Well fellas, here is my 2nd post. This is my long range hyper accurate Wilson Super Sniper. I’ve rung steel with her at 1.1 kilometers in heavy cross wind. It was quite a fun (yet expensive) process to walk 175grain bullets into the target with that much drop and windage but it didn’t prove impossible.

The calipers don’t lie. 3 shot group at 100 yards was .35”. 1/3 MOA with FGMM 175s. Hope you like the pics. 08B7B913-2AFF-4F07-A168-0B6518344273.jpeg

I typically shoot 5 shots groups, usually ten to twenty of them.
or a dozen 5 shot groups @ 600 yards.
Some of these 5 shot groups in the 4-6-9 target made one MOA, some didn't.
4-21-19 targets, top half then Up 1/2 MOA and 1/4 right on the scope, then the bottom half.
Easier to see from the back side.
Left side Dogtown brass, right side Nosler brass. Five slightly different loads covering a whole 1/2 grain.
Two called fliers (that's my story and I'm sticking to it :) )
Take out the two fliers and that's 100 shots into 1.5 or a little less.
And this is NOT a Super Sniper. The last pic was shot on 3-31-19 in the rain.
Some of the holes slid down the paper when it got wet.

A good read by Jack Leuba from KAC about evaluating a precision semi-auto. Too bad I don’t see Jack posting here.

Just bought a 20" Wilson combat super sniper chambered in 224 Valkyrie and I'm just waiting for it to get here. I've got my fingers crossed that she shoots sub moa. I haven't seen any negatives about Wilson's barrels except for one guys YouTube video about his being reamed wrong. Other than that, it continues to look like Wilson combat knows what they're doing.

If you try the 90gr FGMM... make sure you buy the "new" version, with the thicker jacket.
New box...

Wilson does not put out bad products. They are one of the few companies where if they make it, it's going to be near the top of that market in quality and function. Bill Wilson is one of the real gems of the firearm community.

I just put one of the 20” super sniper barrels in 223 Wylde on a precision AR I just finished. It is hands down one of the most accurate AR’s I’ve ever shot. It seems to love IMR8208 XBR and 73g ELDM’s. I’m getting about 2850 FPS out of them and shooting consistently under 1/2 MOA. I found a few other combos it liked too but haven’t been able to get the velocity I was able to get with the XBR. I still need to run a quick test with H4895 but I don’t think I will find anything that out performs the XBR. All and all I am very pleased with the barrel and am considering ordering another for a build for my son.

Looks nice, but FYI three round groups are meaningless. 5x5 (five, five shot groups on one target) is usually considered the minimum to show statistical significance for measuring a rifles (well rifle+shooter+ammo really) accuracy. Just means you've got more shooting to do :).

Yup. Just be prepared to go insane looking for that holy grail load. Ask me how I know....

I just finished putting together a new upper using a WC 20” .223 varmint barrel. I’ll be taking it to the range this weekend to see how it shoots

Still breaking in 20” fluted 6.5 Grendel barrel I picked up in sale recently, but if chrono results from last weekend hold true, barrel is a fast one. 31.4 CFE/CCI41/123 Nosler CC posted 5 at 2615 avg with 10 SD. In Bartlein and Satern 20” barrels, that’s usually a 2550-2575 load, temp dependent. Seems to like 120 Scenar L, so far.

Took my 20" .223 Super Sniper out yesterday for its maiden voyage and I think its a keeper. I used a box of PMC gold .223 to set up the adjustable gas block (weakest round I had) and to get on paper. After the PMC I grabbed box of 75gr Hornady Steel Match, the first 5 grouped a lot better than the PMC, then I shot this. I pulled the first one then shot the next 4 into a .5 MOA hole. I had to leave right after I shot it so I didn't have a chance to back it up, but I think I'm going to like playing with this one.

Well looks like not only do the barrels shoot great, but they stand behind what they sell. Little detail to add to my last post, while I was waiting for another shooter to get back from the 600 yd targets I decided I didn't have time to shoot anymore so I started picking up. I bumped my rifle and even though I caught it before it hit anything I managed to put some ugly scratches in the cerakote on the upper. While disassembling the upper so I could get the coating fixed the pin that lines up the barrel into the upper came out. Long and short of it I called Wilson, sent the barrel out priority mail on Friday and today the barrel is heading back to me. While the short trip from southern LA to Arkansas didn't hurt they turned it around pretty quick. A lot of times I ask myself if some of the higher end parts are worth the extra $, well in this case it certainly was.

No anti cant device yet, and yes I need to work on my fundamentals. Should be fun, I'm excited to get back into it.

No worries brother like you said nothing wrong with more Trigger Time. Learning on a 308 semi-auto with no muzzle brake is definitely the best way to do it.

That’s good to hear. Where do you typically go shoot? If you are in south LA, we may have crossed paths before.

I’m a member at Southern. It’s a nice facility for what it is. It offers a lot more than your typical public range around here, any way. Good to see another Louisiana guy here.
