Thanks!

We killed a lot more beer and whiskey than critters, but I had a great trip. 3 ranches, 5 pigs, 2 javelina, 2 turkeys (Rio Grande, in season in in South Texas), 1 whitetail buck, and 1 big ass jackrabbit (with a 1911). Good to be home, but I had a hell of a time.

Work tomorrow is bound to suck in comparison.
lmao Call in and report back. ;) That's a helluva trip alright. That ain't bad trigger time Sir. Jealous.

So any of you guys in your AO's get smacked with the cold front being called around here the "Arctic Blast"? Been hovering in the 40's for a while then BAM!! The 20's are amongst us. I know that ain't squat for some of you guys but when it drops like that it's a skating rink around here. Been a fun few days travelling.

So what goes best with freezing weather and wind? That's right. Cold ass Beers n Crabs. :p Beer, Crabs, n somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 5.56 cases frolicking around the bed. Perfect.

I was out in shorts feeding Splitzilla yesterday, low 70's and humid as balls ahead of the front.

It came through last night and dropped the temps probably 20-25 degrees overnight but it's still raining with humidity over 90%. It says our current temps are mid 40's, but with the damp it feels quite a bit colder. I use my northern woman as my temp gauge; 40's in the North was T-shirt weather for her up there and down here she's laying in front of the fireplace trying to warm her feet.

The power of humidity to make you miserable cannot be overstated.

I can't really blame the poor bastards I see off the road around here. Hell, I'm loaded for Bear and was still slipping here and there yesterday.

This is why I was asking.

It has cooled off here as well. Just bumping up against freezing during the day, low 20’s at night. Third day in a row of HOWLING wind. Makes shooting tough but I still give it a go. Pic is from gathering data yesterday prior to shooting. Wind speed is in knots. Multiply x 1.15 to convert to MPH.

My parents let me skip school a lot of times. My dad and grandad always used the line "I'm not letting school stand in the way of your education."
My kid will get many opportunities throughout school for the same.
Good on ya!

Did the VA Beach run again today. Hoping that's the last of that for a while.

Got home around 3 to wet snow just starting.

Promised my neighbors (Riley's folks) I'd feed the animals for the weekend while they were away.

Got that done and settled in for the rest of the day. It looks like this might be one for the books as far as pre-Christmas snows in these parts.

All I see is that Tucker has a great PLACE TO RIDE DIRT BIKES OF ALL KINDS.
Sorry, I took Cap lox off, I hope he has lox as well.
Let the planning for the PARTY begin. Let your imagine begin.
Full lock slide going SIDEWAYS, for me.
Tucker, I don't believe you have any worries, We are all too old to ever make it happen but wouldn't be wonderful if we could? FM

LOCAL'S ARE CALLING IT THE LARGEST COYOTE "EVER"
:Local folk lore be damned", said one innocent bystander gathered at the shin dig. "That Yote's been causing problems forever", said another. "Good riddance" said Cattle Farmer Bob. "That there damn Yote's pulled down better part of my herd. Even took Betsy. Betsy was special. (I'm just gonna throw in one of these (") quote marks thingy's real quick cuz it just feels like it's time)", Bob continued with "Betsy could really give ya the goose bumps when she wanted to".

Ok look. I dunno if this beast has taken out literally 100's of cattle, on it's own, in the dark, wind, n rain. I don't know. But neither do you. So don't judge. It very well could have.

What I do know is I really like the handiness of packing my homemade AR around.

143 yds. "Almost" missed. Went for the headshot and just about brushed it's teeth. :p Bella isn't particularly impressed with an animal she loves to chase when it just lays there.

Tucker, I’d say we set an early snow record here. We were supposed to get a couple inches and ended up with 6 or 8. All fun till the power went out a little while ago.

And to think, it hasn't been to long since you popped your AR cherry. The dark side is where all the fun is.

As with aac_shooter , we got some very rare snow down here on the AL coast last night. It was a legit snow (for these parts) for about 5 hours and most unusually it hung around overnight. Unlike northern snow, it was polite enough to melt off this afternoon. IMG_2107.JPG

I even cooked a steak in the fireplace, just cause I could

And aac_shooter, that stretch of paradise out around Bandera, Boerne, New Braunfels is the prettiest area of Texas I've seen. I loved that part of the Hill Country.

It was 65 in Denver today....

On a good note I fixed my girlfriend's fridge when she was freaked out she was going to have to buy a new one. She was so cute worrying about me taking care of her stuff and when am I going to get to my stuff. I smiled, kissed her, and told her that her stuff is my stuff.

Barely been above freezing (35) last 7 days, looking like at least another week. 15 degrees right now. In January we usually have a 2-3 week spell where it never gets above 30. Weather inversions are a hoot.
