Not to be a nit pickin asshole - and please dont hesitate to correct me if Im actually wrong here - the McBros Classic is the one thats based on the M70 Marksman, the HTG is M40A1... ??Not DepTaylor but I own one of his stocks being built right now into an old school M40 in .223 caliber.
They are standard wood stocks that he built to closely resemble 1960's era Remington 700 wood.
He even has a pattern that somewhat matches Winchester M70/McMillan HTG stocks.
They are first class stocks.
I believe he has two butt plates - some are remingtom M40 style and others are a sweet in house build that resembles old Springfield Armory match M1903 butt plates.
If you bed or fit perfectly your gun will be accurate and beautiful.
Wood is not as stable as synthetic though depending on the weather you may get some issues.
