I've probably seen all there is to see in zombie/post apocalyptic/gun guy movies, but throw some out that maybe weren't blockbusters but were worth the watch.

The Quick and the Dead is fun; the 1995 one with Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, and Russell Crowe. The 2007 3:10 to Yuma is good, too; has a nice variety of Old West firearms.

1993 and 2013 Stalingrad movies are supposed to be pretty good. The Great Raid is a good one, and A Bridge Too Far, if you want some more WWII stuff.

District 9 features some pretty rarely seen guns including a Denel NTW-20; I'd recommend Elysium and Chappie, too, if that's any your interest, and also Karl Urban in Dredd.

Oh and The Ghost and the Darkness. Because the true story behind that movie is pretty fuckin' wild.

Whore Island
The Way of the Gun, El Mariachi/Desperado/Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Heat, The Town, Blackhawk Down, Ronin, Man on Fire, The Jackal. All aren't really firearm-centric, but they get most of the gun shit right and are worth watching to boot.

The Snobbiest Town in The Snobbiest State in the N
The Killer Elite.

For Queen and Country (young Denzel Washington)

Siege of Firebase Gloria

Spartan (Val Kilmer)

Ronin as mentioned above is outstanding

The c 2015 remake of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

The Package — Cold War spy thriller worth the watch

The Final Option (bad SAS thriller. But a fun watch)

The fourth protocol

This should keep you busy for a while!

Re: "Shot through the Heart"

I have a copy of that. It really is a very good movie. It's less a movie about shooters and more a movie about how quickly things went sideways in Bosnia. Highly recommended... If you can find it.
Just bought and watched it. Very good. I remember this going on and hoping that someone would have put a round through Radovan Karadzic.
That was horrific over there.

One thing we do here, each year before Remembrance Day, is watch the Band of Brothers series. And a few other shows as well. The 11th approaches.

Ya'll wouldn't believe it, but My Lady came from a very small town, in the very remote North. As such, neither her nor her family learned much of anything regarding WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, or any of the history that went with it. Believe me when I say, some of the things that she's seen/learned now have hit her (and them) HARD.

There is so much I could say, but I'll leave it at that for now.
