I was posting in another thread when it got shut down, and rightly so. Because of the trolls, and because I know there are plenty who peek around a dark internet corner to read what goes on here, there is something I want them to read. Because many of them do not like what the Hide represents and stands for (maybe that's taking it too far?) I think they should be given a few words on what is behind all this 2nd Amendment and COTUS stuff that gives them constipation. What is behind it is people. Real people from all walks of life. Some of these people are probably not more than a few degrees of separation away from you, if not within your line of sight.

What kills me is these guys calling us nazis and/or nazi sympathizers. Ummmmmm, I have 2 chinese half sisters and a latina girlfriend. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't go over very well with the fucking skinheads. Not to mention, this forum has dudes from all different races and nationalities. None of us give 2 shits who is what race or religion or whatever. We share a common interest and we are all Americans; real Americans that is. Not a bunch of progressive shits who don't respect the Constitution, the flag or the guys who founded this country...
Right on @mijp5, the crowd here is far more diverse than most people will enjoy or suffer wherever they work, or at Essa Bagel on 3rd Ave. We have biracial families, biracial couples, I don't know how many nationalities, a few tree-huggers (fuck, I'm part lorax), an eco-terrorist or two, people of widely ranging means, big city and small town residents (even someone marooned in a Canadian hamlet), people doctors, animal doctors, Eurotrash, coonasses (and mother fucking proud of it), at least 1 college professor, more than one troglodyte, pencil-necked geeks and total meat-heads, people of all manner of religions and people who cannot decide if their religion is a religion or a philosophy, children of immigrants, immigrants, people who want to be immigrants, emigrees, and on and on... all rallying around a common cause, not necessarily agreeing on the how or the who, but a shared interest nonetheless.

I think it's not so much that the left simply don't notice all of this as much as they have an abject fear of it. It's complex enough to fight off pithy soundbites. But worst of all there are elements of this group (and that list above is short of capturing the breadth of Hide diversity) that might actually have humanitarian appeal. This cannot be stood for.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is truly a shame.

So is the answer to let them control the tone or the conversation, hell they want to control the language and the meaning of words too. I get Tuckers point but really, is the answer to let a wet blanket be thrown on speaking about what we are seeing and whats apparent to almost all of the diversity tics called off above?

Its called chilling thought and speech to slow down resistance to unwanted advances by ideological opponents, is this what we want to be kowtowing to?

I dont know the answer, hell I dont know, but I do know what fascists look and sound like when I see them, and the trio that showed up here recently are fascists to the core.

What good is expressing your thoughts and values to the opponents and then crying to the mods every time they respond in kind? And if we are so homogeneous in our thoughts and values, then what good is preaching to the choir?

If we are truly diverse and open minded then we need to act like adults and debate them as such. The taunting and trolling brings out the worst from either side, and degrades the debate into a fucking mess that frankly I and the others I'm sure are tired of having to mop up.

The fact is there are countless places on the web to engage them and enrage them - Facebook, Twitter, etc. are where you find them by the shit ton.

Let me try an analogy.

It's one thing to enjoy shooting prairie dogs. The little disease-ridden fuckers destroy property and propagate like rats. Anyone who knows them from the proper viewpoint understands that. But when you start developing habitat for them and feeding them in your own backyard, have you lost sight of the original goals?

I dont care about trying to sway their beliefs...typically ANTIFA sympathizers are too far gone, and no amount of reason will have an effect..

i just enjoy watching the hoops they try to jump through when you present them with facts and they cant accept reality......fucking hilarious.....a good dust up every once and a while keep you young and provides enjoyment for years to come

I think bang bang blat is a big spending Mcainican. Or a blue big spending republican. He does post in other sections and seems pretty knowledgeable about shooting and reloading. I think some of what he said is just to get our goat. Two can play at that game. LOL. Some of these other jokers are different, but BBB catches load of shit, and I don't think we are more than an arbitrary line in the sand apart.

Welfare is like heroin and fertilizer, you can't just go cold turkey and expect everything to be ok. If there was no more of any tomorrow, millions would die, and that is a very scary proposition.

That's fine, but stay well within boundaries of the house rules when doing so. Otherwise you're liable to get taken out with the trash.
I'm not going to keep dropping the hammer on just the new sign-ups and giving free passes. One vacation has already been meted out tonight. If I were being fully fair and objective, it would likely have been permanent. I'll work on being more fair and objective.

Let's be honest here. Just how many or should I say how few of us really want to have an actual mature debate? Whenever we get a Leftist or SJW that shows up here, the majority of us all want to watch the shit show that ensues while taking a few jabs in the process. I personally don't have a problem debating someone who has different views than me, but I won't waste my time on folks who ask me a question and I answer them and then they bitch because I didn't answer them the way they wanted me to or didn't accept my answer.

I'll bite since I was mentioned. I avoid this section for the most part but I still read it. Call me a Communist, Anti-Fascist, Neo-Liberal, McCaininite, Welfare Queen, or whatever makes you comfortable. Small minded people in the Bear Pit certainly will. Look how poor this subsection is when compared to the rest of the site. There's at least a weekly thread about Hillary Clinton or Maxine Waters and guys just cannot resist letting everyone know that "Hillary is a cunt". Or the Q Anon thread where "Everyone that disagrees with me is secretly a blood sucking pedophile and Trump is going to put them in camps soon."

I have my real picture because I don't need to hide behind anonymity to say what I want to say. I am a Republican...or was until the 4Chan trolls/Own the Libs/Trumpists took over. I am also a Patriot and I serve. I don't declare it often because I don't think carrying arms for my country makes my opinion any more valid than the next guy.

Part of being a responsible citizen is setting a good example. People shouldn't be afraid to take others to task when they see something that is abhorrent. Like advocate for the murder of other American citizens based on political lines; something that happens all to often here. We get a lot of that here. Threads about "Who is ready to rooftop vote/vote with a gas can" without a hint of irony. People that fantasize about Civil War 2.0, people that delight in the fantasy of causing death and destruction to other Americans do not get to claim the label Patriot.

Compassion and empathy is a huge part of my values as well. That's why I'll even offer to go shooting with the same people on this forum that advocate for horrible things. And I'll offer them advice on what guns to by for their future Civil War because I know that at the heart of it, most people are at least capable of being decent to each other. It's just that when they get together in group they encourage a certain ugliness to come out.

This is going to be my only post in this thread. You can inbox me if you want my reply.

Liberal politicians and policies have turned my home state in to a disgusting cesspool.

I was headed to pier 14 on the day Kate Steinle was shot. If I hadn't stopped for dinner I could have been a witness or got shot myself. That's how close the BS got to killing me.

I was also a victim of Obama's horrible economy (twice) and a victim of the bank bailout (twice).

I like small government and lots of liberty, if you don't get in my business, I don't care what's in yours. I'm fiscally conservative which means I dislike most social programs because historically they create more problems than they solve and they are difficult to roll back no matter how screwed up they get.

As an example, I could have bought an overpriced house that I couldn't afford during the 2006 housing bubble. I didn't do it because I couldn't afford it. It was the right move but I didn't get any Bail out. After the collapse I tried to buy a house twice, one short sale and one bank owned. Both times I got screwed by the bank. The first time they rejected my very fair offer and eventually sold the house for $45,000 less than my offer. The second time they used fake bidders in two online auctions instead of accepting my real offer which was well in line with the comps (and about $90,000 more than the amount of the loan default), it eventually sold for more but a year later. In case you were wondering, I had more than enough credit to get those offers financed and enough income to afford them.

Now, a very big reason why I'm working for a better salary than any I had under Obama is the Trump tax policy.

I have a generally positive opinion of the proud boys. I would not be surprised if you could find a few of them with racist views but that doesn't make them all racist. Calling them Nazis is rediculous. That's like calling all democrats murderous cunts because: Hillary.

I believe in the wall and a big helping of immigration reform. That's not anti-immigrant, I was in the first row for my brother in law's citizenship ceremony and two of my best friends are legal immigrant citizens. They did it right, they aren't criminals and I'm glad they are here. Oh, by the way, my two imigrant friends came here to escape communism...

I'm Latino, white and native American, not gay but I've marched in the Pride Parade, I've been a victim of "reverse racism" and had to deal with a ton of BS after Trump won because I have a penis and don't wear a dress.

My civil rights are under constant attack, the FBI has been weaponized by leftists and RINOs, straight up socialism is a real threat and there have been at least 4-5 local conservative political events where I could have been assaulted by Antifa and had no form of police protection just because I wanted to hear Ben Shapiro, a Trump rally or Milo Yiannopoulos.

So, how have the libs been wronged by Trump? I would love to hear that laundry list.

I bet it's just lots of feels and two Supreme Court justices.

I like origionalists because they don't let the government twist the words of the Constitution in to whatever balloon animal they want. That's the problem we had in the Jim Crow era and the way we would lose the second amendment if it were up to Hillary (and Obama if he could have stacked SCOTUS with more than Sotomayor and Kagan).

There is a mechanism for changing the Constitution, not just the meaning, the actual wording, it's called an amendment. If the libs want to persue a change, that's the way to do it, not to find activist judges that will shit on the Constitution if it agrees with their personal political beliefs.

What I really wish is that we had local and state politicians that wouldn't push through blatantly unconstitutional laws that make citizens pay for decade long legal battles while their civil rights are infringed. If we had that, we could have a full lefty SCOTUS because nothing important would ever get to them.

Some civility in political discourse and fair media coverage would be nice too.

I can't wait to pull lefty heads out of the sand and make them acknowledge the worst political scandal in US history perpetrated by Obama and Hillary (with some help from McCain). Asside from Hillary's role in that scandal, I would like to see her held responsible for her criminal mishandling of classified information and maybe even expose the Clinton Foundation influence peddling operation.

It would be nice to impeach certain politicians for encouraging people to harrass their political opponents too.

Trump could go down as one of the greatest political reformers in history if he can do that and flush out more of the swamp.

How can one debate maturely and sincerely with people who no shit think they have an unlimited right to rule you?

Who think that you very basic political beliefs make you an oppressor of (insert SJW cause du jour)?

Who think that the USA, as currently constituted and governed, is fundamentally flawed to the core and must be destroyed?

You can't. Which is why so many are starting to think that a fight is all that is left.

Not quite as radical but I'm having a similar problem on another forum. I keep reading the most stupid responses by people that don't know shit and getting shot for it. There is little logical diversity for a company that has a parent with an anti 2nd agenda and it shows in their fan boys. I think Savage is on the selling block. I hope a real buyer steps up and gets them back on the right track. My bad for starting this thread on a anti Savage board.

History repeats itself.

There were still a very few Civil War veterans alive when I was born. That would be my great great grandparents generation.
I knew many of their children. That would be my great grandparents generation. They were pretty angry and hate filled about the government that destroyed their way of life. Today their way of life is viewed very unkindly. Those two generations way of life is the underlying cause of many of today's divisive issues.... right or wrong, it is the underlying current.
And to that current, the following pic illustrates the attitude of most of me and mine...
20180812_162101.jpg

My great grandparents generation and grandparents generation created Jim Crow to be able to keep "their" way of life. That generation lynched a bunch of people. This too is "an underlying cause" of today's issues.
Then some of them fought in ww1 and saw a different world. They wanted a change from the hates that led to that war. They wanted something better. They went for it...

And my grandparents and parents generation got the great depression and WW2. And in America got the new deal...

I was raised by those people who hated rich politicians and "snob upper classes" who manipulated $ and caused the depression (in their eyes, minds, and thought processes). I was raised by people who hated the "new deal" government. They hated anything that took away their "perceived" freedoms.

Then there was Korea, Vietnam, and the civil rights movement. And Johnsons great society. I heard a lot of hate filled speech then too....

However: a very large number of disenfranchised people got out from under "what they saw as oppression" and got opportunities to be just as good as anybody else. And a lot of disenfranchised people started trying to make those changes permanent.
No more Jim Crow, no more xx only bathrooms and restaurants, no more separate but (unequal) equal.

And there is/was a huge amount of hate by old guard toward those disenfranchised who created changes that made it ok for minorities to mingle with the mainstream.

The Constitution of the U.S. does say all people are created equal and have unalienable rights. There are people who were deprived of those rights for years.... They are fighting for their rights today.

I see the same hate and anger against those people today that I saw from the previous generations who were angry and hated people trying to create change.

I saw that anger expressed in the closed topic....
There are changes a bunch of US dont like and WE are angry. It came out in the topic...

The 8 years previous FORCED changes on US a large number of US dont like, wont like, and will hate until the day we die.

A large number of people "who felt disenfranchised" benefitted from those changes and want to keep them...

Those changes created the biggest THEM versus US that I have seen since the 1960's civil rights movement. And the most hate and anger I have seen since then. It's clear in several topics here.

America is a "house divided", so is the Hide....

I see three divisions now. Old Guard, a Middle, and New Guard. Old Guard vs New Guard is clearly THEM vs US. The middle sees good from both sides and IN both sides.
In the closed topic, I saw Middle get hammered.
The current military and professional business circuits meld the three sides into a working group that functions well because "RULES" hold, either through self discipline or enforced discipline.

Tucker is currently Hide discipline because in that topic, the rules failed and self discipline deteriorated in a few of US. OK...

The Hide is still a group of very diverse people who by and large get along well because of shared values....

I greatly appreciate the fact so many diverse people can have shared values and come here and SHARE much. I dont want to lose this thing we have.

United we stand, divided we will fall... a long time ago, someone is alleged to have said, "if we dont stand united, we will hang separately".

Yes, we do have an enemy.....
20180812_152748.jpg

Divided, it is much easier to be destroyed from within...
Will we stay angry and divided ???
"Those the gods intend to destroy, they first make angry!"

Angry words got a topic about "restricted word freedoms" "trampling the BOR" closed.

There are an awful lot of angry people it seems based on the number of social media posts seen today.

Unchecked anger leads to....

TUCKER. 😎

The history I see and know, is being repeated in anger today at changes coming that nobody wants to accept, old guard, middle, or new guard.

Now, MY bad attitude once again... 20180812_162101.jpg

"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." - Eleanor Roosevelt

They never get past events, and they focus primarily on people. They don't and never will understand anyone whose beliefs are not based on emotion and bestowed opinion. I never liked DJT...not one bit. In fact, before he was President I'd have said he was a detestable Democrat. I only voted for him to stop Hillary. He has not governed as I feared he would, and I had no idea that one of their own would send the left into hysterics. So really, he's won me over. I'm still totally transactional though. I don't get emotionally invested in politicians beyond hating them as a class and individually, and DJT IS a politician.

Nothing separates us more from the other side than that we don't have to love or even like leaders to vote for them. They were so in love with Bill Clinton that not even all the rapey stuff and cigars in an intern's twat could persuade them of what he really was. Same deal with Hillary. They want to love her so much they'll ignore everything and pretend it's all some plot against her... Delusional.

Before the lock I was going to post the NSDAP Party Platform, because I am quite certain that they've never actually read it (or any real political work of non-fiction). I am certain they would be shocked by how closely it conforms to their political policy proscription. While I'm certainly willing to give them a golf clap for dropping the Teutonic focused racism from their platform, the rest of it is pure socialism/communism, and no one is fooled by them pointing out the splinter of racism in the eye of the right. I live in a blue, blue city, and I see real racism all the time, and it's always from the same union supporting, blue dog, Democrats who would never even consider voting for a Republican.

They don't even know what socialism is at it's most basic level and definition. It's a word that makes them feel good because they've been taught it's a good word, not because it stands for good ideas.

Definition of socialism
1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

It isn't even supposed to be a system. It's just a transitional state on the way to real communism... One which man cannot seem to get past...

I, and many here, have seen civil war up close. I know what it is. I know I don't want it anywhere near my family. That said, there are far worse things that could come to pass. An America where leftist totalitarianism supplants our Republic would certainly rate!

We are not supposed to believe their rhetoric? They're just kidding? There is not a significant portion of the left that is now socialist (authoritarian) at best, and more likely communist (totalitarian) at worst? Violence is like breath to them. Buying more ammo and preparing for their attack is rudimentary, because they've never become powerful and NOT resorted to violence of the most epic sort. That's merely history.

Ive complained once.

A contributor posted something expressing some sort of sympathy with pedophilia, if not sympathy it was an expression of how he can "understand" the compulsion as "being born that way".

some things are beyond "understanding".

Some things need to be policed on the site so that some douche nozzle doesn't come along and use what is posted here to reflect negatively on the site.

I hope the mods will close a post that could be taken out of context and used by a side to reflect negatively on teh community.

If you dont think you could be baited to post something that can be used against you you are naive.

Hopefully we get back to a point where "expression" of ideas is viewed as separate from "acting" on ideas but that is not the present climate.

Figure out a way to make words just words again....

"Sticks and stones may break my bones......" is truth and needs to come back.

I am new to the Hide and have loved reading threads and posting occasionally. I limit my input because I just don’t know as much as most people on the board and I am in the learning phase. I am surprised about the comments concerning posters complaining to the moderators, surprised but not shocked. I have read some pretty strong replies but if you get your feelings hurt on a board you should not make posts in opinion threads.

The thing that all of the SJW’s have in common, from my experience, is a high level of self righteous indignation. You disagree with them logically the debate becomes emotional and they get angry. That has become the standard way to shift a logical arguement they are losing. I have reached a point where I walk away at that point because I do not want to feed the trolls. Arguing with them on their level degrades everyone that sinks to that level.

View attachment 6932208

Divided, it is much easier to be destroyed from within...
Will we stay angry and divided ???
"Those the gods intend to destroy, they first make angry!"

Angry words got a topic about "restricted word freedoms" "trampling the BOR" closed.

There are an awful lot of angry people it seems based on the number of social media posts seen today.

Unchecked anger leads to....

TUCKER. 😎

The history I see and know, is being repeated in anger today at changes coming that nobody wants to accept, old guard, middle, or new guard.

Now, MY bad attitude once again... View attachment 6932211
Well said, J-H. the only correction I woul add is that, having frown up in the 60', the division today is FAR greater than I saw then. Then it was just blacks fightting for their rights against the 'Old Guard'> today it seems, especially on the left, but on our side as well to some extent, it seems to be everybody hating everybody.

some things are beyond "understanding".

Ive complained once since the last move, as well, when someone was putting up obviously racially inflammatory crap. I havent seen him around since.

You guys are telling me, we can run an tell the master there is some thing we don't like, an they will do something about it? What happened to big boy pants? I've seen the changes in the Hide over the years, an wondered when the the meek would start taking over, have we reached that point yet?
When this place was first started this kind of shit never happened, over scopes yes, but over someones feelings? We must have came from different stock.
If your looking for truth about why a person is here, there are a few sub sections you never see some post in, that is a clue.

edit to add, tracking a persons posts is a big clue as to what they are here for. There are a bunch that post up real short blurb responses to get into the px. There is another group, that is here just for the pit yet some of those don't stir up shit like others. Then you have all kinds of fan boys, that is a very interesting group as well.

History repeats itself.
Today their way of life is viewed very unkindly. Those two generations way of life is the underlying cause of many of today's divisive issues.... right or wrong, it is the underlying current.
Thats a lot of reading my small attention span wont commit to but based on whats quoted above, seeing as those member of your family are long passed...they had nothing to do with whats going on at present....

It was contrived and created for a reason by the last administration to hold the Oval office.

Obama's 8 years of forced change didn't help anybody.

I think before 9-11 we were almost a post racial country then Muslim radicals screwed that up and Obama created huge racial divisions out of that (with the fans flamed by a media eager to portray anything as an example of racism even if it wasn't). At least it seemed that way in most cities I visited back then, with the exception of Oakland and Philladelphia where there were racial issues but probably not the kind you imagine.

The civil war is an interesting thing to mention in this conversation. From my understanding generated by reading history (because I don't have any family involved in the fight, in the country at the time or owning slaves), it seems like the main reason for southern secession was the north meddling with their policies with abolition of slavery as a justification. I'm not saying slavery was right or abolition wasn't the right move, it was just a smokescreen first and foremost. Evidence of this is Jim Crow, if the government was serious about the fourteenth amendment, Jim Crow would have been nipped in the bud.

If you really want to see racism and homophobic bigotry in gun groups, look at how the NRA argued against P&I incorporation in the McDonald v Chicago case.

The only reason for that idiocy was trying to maintain a justification for a gay marriage ban. How well did that work out NRA? Stupid and ineffective.

Of course a liberal can look back at history and see whatever they want, to them the civil war is cut and dry, forgetting that history was written by the victors but there is enough information left behind to establish a good context of what actually led up to the split.

Some people say question authority, I question everything and what I find often makes me more skeptical.

If you are going to complain make sure its based on the idea that someone has posted something that presents an existential threat to what has been created by HMFIC.

I come here for the rifle shit and in my distraction end up spending time fighting fights in the PIT.

I dont want to see the other jeopardized because something has attracted the attention of the SJW community in our Romper Room.

A lot of what "caused' the Civil War is directly relevant to what is going on today - a fight for power and economic control being hindered by "that pesky Constitution".

Slavery was the one issue that the nail could be hammered into to hang the hat of war on.

I wish the South had of had the wherewithal to give the North what it wanted and it would have been like a rug being pulled from beneath the feet of the war mongers.

Im thinking another reason would have been found but based on the make up of the Southern economy Im not sure how they could have continued.

I guess as today, as back than, the originators of the Dem party would be looking for the cheap labor.

Both sides would than be competing for the "new slaves" as in the North they wanted cheap labor to run their factories.

In the history of the Hide, I don't think anyone has gotten more shit flung at them than me. In all the 12 years I been here, I think the only time I ever whined to a mod here with the report function was to get a thread I started locked because it was turning into a real eyesore and I didn't have the ability to lock my own thread. One of the things that keeps me coming back to the Hide is the fact we are adults and we are allowed to act like adults with our non-pc humor and non-pc opinions about shit going on in the world. I get fucked in the ass almost on a daily basis by asshole SJWs online who's gentle little feelings keep melting away to the point where they feel the need to "get me". I've had these SJW cunts try and doxx me, swat me, ddos me, etc. As long as the brain God gave me continues to function with freewill, I will NOT back down to these Communist sacks of shit.

Personally, I'm not a fan of people getting suspended or banned unless it's for some extreme terrorist shit, but if SJWs are starting to infest this site with their soy boi mentality, I think a purge needs to happen ASAP.

In the recent cases it's been a bit more complex than that. It's more a case of
Obama's 8 years of forced change didn't help anybody.
There is an entire generation of voters, both now and in the pipe for 2020, who have known exactly one President and his ways in their lifetime. It's fucking them up pretty good, because they were promised free shit that turned out to belong to other people who decided they wanted it back.

They need to turn that anger back upon those that promised them that which they could not provide and had no right to promise......

That is beyond rich, you of all people talking about "shit". You have changed somewhat, but there are elephant minds here.

I would much rather be around folks with elephant minds than folks with donkey minds.
There are those as well but there are not as many as there use to be. Lot of the good guys have left because of present day hide issues they seen coming, long ago. Not Franks or the mods fault at all, it's just the nature of the world these days. A correction is coming though.

I have never complained to a mod even when Larry, GawdDamnRight, lambasted me for asking what he thought was a stupid question.

When you really think about it, the Hide is a slice of what we see elsewhere. Yes there are fewer SJW and Liberal types than in the mainstream (FB, etc.) but they are here. However, when you really look at it, are they the cause of the fireworks here on the Hide. I can remember a few threads where even those of us who personify the COTUS and the rights it provides us could not agree.

Fact is that I like the PIT because it not only provides a place where like minded individuals can gather and vent but also because we DO get the occasional contrary opinion and can respond. Yes it does sometimes escalate but we are all a bit alpha in personality so it is to be expected. If people have to go crying to Dad, then they should remember the adage...."If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen".

Mine, GF, was not about something I didnt like but something that was clearly racist and inciting a lot of trouble. Apparently 'the Master' agreed as hte individual behind it has disappeared.
