Let me put the complicated system in simple terms. Here in America where pilots learn in little planes then move to bigger ones on their own dime this don't happen much.
Sure the Boeing system is complicated but it amounts to a runaway trim. Right on the checklist for any airplane that has power trim it will have steps to pull the breaker and manually adjust the trim. These rinki dink foreign airlines don't train their pilots to the same standard as a dentist from Peoria, so don't get on their planes thinking you are flying Delta.
