    Need Opinions: Low Power Variable

I agree about BDC's. I find them much quicker and easier to use than mils in an LPV. All the shooting I do inside the 600 yard mark with these types of scopes favors the BDC for me. My first Razor 1-6 was a mil reticle, and I switched and got it in the Gen II with a JM BDC reticle. I find that...

Lpvo which optics out of 1-4 vs 1-6?

It may be as Ilya pointed out that it just needs a little tweaking on the ocular ring. I've looked through a handful of them now and I haven't seen any distortation on 1x. And I do look for it. My shooting partner just got one for his 3 gun rifle, and it looks fantastic. It's definitely an...

Lpvo which optics out of 1-4 vs 1-6?

The Burris RT6 is a fantastic scope. It's definitely punching above it's weight class. If your budget is $500 or less, that's a great route to go.

To be frugal or not when purchasing quality glass

I can honestly say that in 4 years of PRS, many more than that shooting 3 Gun and some competitive local long range matches, and 40 years of big game hunting throughout the northwest, that expensive glass is not high on my list of needs. I've quite simply never been let down by the ability of my...

    300 Norma Mag

Yes, It's a standard Norma. And I haven't seen that chart above on RE33 before. I could have sworn I saw a spreadsheet from Berger saying 93.2 was max recommended load using the 230gr Hybrid. Which seems more realistic. I think a person can push to 94grs with some rifles, I think mine could get...

    300 Norma Mag

Haha, yeh... And that never hurts anyone's feelings.. That pretty much matches my experience. I think I loaded to 93.6, it was showing some pressure there. Pretty flattened out primers, but I don't think bolt lift was heavy. I believe 93.2 was the top end of the recommended charge weight per...

    Bullet speeds in 6.5CM SP-10

My good friend has one. If I recall he's mid to high 2600's using factory Hornady. It shoots very well though. Nice consistent sub MoA and cycles pretty clean.

LPVO for 25-750 yds (some "precision" work)

The RT6 is a fantastic scope at that price point. A buddy of mine has been trying to get his hands on one for some time, looks like he found one and it's one the way. I should get some play time with it at the 3 gun match this weekend.

New Steiner , or Old Leupold?

If you want rings, get the Burris Signature Series in 34mm. These have a great reputation as a solid mount. You don't have to get a one piece mount to get MoA adjustability. https://www.burrisoptics.com/mounting-systems/rings/xtr-signature-rings

I'm pretty much sold on RE33. I used H1000 and Retumbo when I initially got the rifle, RE33 gave me better velocity. I was able to develop accurate loads for all 3. But I also use this rifle for hunting, and my velocities stayed very solid all through the fall and winter. I think I shot my elk...

    lightest rifle length railed handguard?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Odin Works Ragna. This is a damn nice handguard.. Or even the Odin 02 Lite if you want full length MLok. https://www.odinworks.com/Ragna_KMod_Forends_p/f-15-km-ra.htm

LPVO for 25-750 yds (some "precision" work)

If you truly want an 8x, I think Steve is right. The value of the Burris is really tough to beat. But it's a slightly different scope than the NX8. The NF is very small and compact and comes with a mil reticle. The Burris is about is maybe 4 or 5 ounces heavier and a little longer with a BDC...

LPVO for 25-750 yds (some "precision" work)

I thought the Kahles and Vortex only came in 6x? Of those three I would choose the NX8...

New Steiner , or Old Leupold?

The Leupy is a great scope for the right usage. My dad has that exact same model on a 30-06 that he's killed everything under the sun with for a lot of years. But it's not the right optic for what you are talking about doing. The Steiner is the right choice.

    Large frame accuracy

My 308 gas gun versus my 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun.. The second figure from the right is foot pounds of energy. 682ftlbs at 1000 yards for the 308 175gr Tipped SMK. 760ftlbs at 1000 yards for the 6.5gr 140gr Nosler RDF 308 6.5 Creedmoor

    300 Norma Mag

I'm not having any pressure issues with my load. I believe I originally developed the load in the summer. I run 92.6grs of RE33 under a 230gr Berger Hybrid, CCI #250 primer, Norma brass. I use a .5fps modifier in AB for temp adjustment. It seems spot on.

    Seekins accuracy

Being in Idaho and having the pleasure of occasionally seeing Glen and Katie at 3 Gun events, I think it's safe to say they have some influence, and a lot of rifles here in the area. I know of a handful of guys (and gals) off the top of my head running them, as well as my very good friend and...

Anyone using a JP thermal dissipator. Opinions?

This is my 3 Gun rifle, it's on it's third barrel now. But this is the first barrel I have run a thermal dissipater on. It has 2k more rounds on it than the last barrel I swapped out, and it's going strong, shooting solid groups.

If I recall, and things may have changed since, isn't Seekins making a bunch of the parts for the GAP?
