    Burris XTR3!!!

I think Kahles makes a very good scope. I really like their stuff. Honestly though, I think you talked yourself into waiting. $1000 less money, larger FOV. The Kahles goes from 27.8' to 5.5' throughout its magnification range. The Burris goes from 37.7' to 6.8'. The FOV is very good on the...

    Burris XTR3!!!

Any minute may be a slight stretch. I dont know that something will go on sale today. But I do expect to see a post from someone that has one very soon. Especially in MoA. I'm surprised we havent seen one yet.

    ACSS reticle for precision shooting?

My first G2 1-6 Razor had the mil reticle. It drove me nuts. I had to spend more time figuring out my holds versus knowing my first 3 lines and post were 270, 320, 420, and 510. I swapped it out for the JM reticle and like it much better. I hardly have to think about it.

    Beginner Overload- Optics

Frank also owns a couple Burris XTR II's and is a fan of what they offer in terms of reliability, durability, and value. Last time I saw him speak of it he said he had never had an XTR II go down in any of his classes. The Burris has been out going on 5 years now. Is it the best glass? Maybe...

    ACSS reticle for precision shooting?

As stated above, BDC designs are for quick adjustments on the fly. I really like BDC reticles for 3 Gun where speed is crucial and first round impacts are important, but not absolutely necessary. I find detailed mil reticles to be too slow and cluttered for that application. But the opposite...

How often do you guys go over 15x?

I find 12x to 16x is my most used magnification range in PRS matches. Anything higher makes target transition too slow. But if I have a long target or KYL that allows me to zoom in on it, I'll spin it up to 20x. More is better, aim small, miss small. Especially if you are trying to be very...

    Burris XTR3!!!

I haven't heard of any plans as yet for an FDE. First on the agenda is a clean roll out of the 18x, then 30x along with the SCR2. Then I suspect once they have those being churned out, they will go to work on adding the illuminated models. So I think their plate will be fairly full for 2019...

    Burris XTR3!!!

I want to say I had heard the reticle would be optimized for each magnification. I'm thinking it's something that I heard early on. But honestly, I'm not 100% on that. So dont hold me to it.

0.2 mil marks on the VERTICAL

Reticles are a very personal preference thing, but that was also my dislike about the reticle. As well as the unnecessary .5 marking on the horizontal hanging below the line with all the .2s above it. I like .2s on every line above and below making them just a second or so faster to sort out.

    Burris XTR3!!!

A lot of the bigger 3 Gun matches, and even here and there at the local ones, will run bonus targets on some stages. They will set up targets at longer distances, usually somewhere between 700 to 1000 yards, and if you have a bonus rifle you can shoot at those targets. There will be a...

    Burris XTR3!!!

I have the XTR II in a 4-20 on a Grendel, and a 5-25 on a heavy 6.5 Creedmoor that I use for my 3 Gun bonus rifle. They are great scopes for the platform.

    Burris XTR3!!!

I had a short and sweet conversation with Sky Leighton yesterday. It didnt run long, he has an awful lot on his plate right now, but we covered some good stuff. He personally jumped in on a customer service issue for a very good friend of mine and got him taken care of in about an hour. For...

    XTR 3 - Race Dial

This will be a replaceable turret. Loosen the screws, remove the existing turret, drop the new one on. Tighten the screws. The windage turret is also replaceable with either the capped or uncapped turret version.

    XTR 3 - Race Dial

It's very well thought out. I like the little vertical groove in it so you can run the tip of your pocket knife down the groove and easily remove the Scotch tape. No fishing around with your fingernail to find the end. I'm not sure how it will be offered. I was told early on it would be...

    300 Norma Mag

I've also been tinkering with the 225gr ELDM, but I'm in the same boat. I use 92.6grs of RE33, which seems to be the accuracy node for both bullets. Both loads are under 5 standard deviation. But the Berger shoots much tighter groups. No idea why.

    Burris 2-10x42 XTR II

I've never noticed an eyebox issue on the 2-10. It seems very user friendly to me. And XTR II turrets can be stiff. It's a feature I really like personally. I've never bumped one in 5 years of hunting, 3 Gun, and PRS usage.

    Burris Warranty Work?

CS has really stepped up their game at Burris. I think they have been doing a very good job at it. I would follow the advice given above. I would work it back and forth a bit, put a little use on it and see if it breaks in. If not, give them a call..

    Burris 2-10x42 XTR II

The 2-10 XTR II is a very good optic. Lots of good ones put there to choose from, but the Burris is a lot of scope for the money in this magnification range.

IS $600 retail for a Burris XTR II 5-25x50 a good deal?

Great deal. I have a buddy who bought a pair of them at that price a few months back. They are solid optics..
