• Post your SMK/Match bullet kills

It seems we have a thread for every other kind if bullet, and maybe if we start another one for SMK's as well as other match bullets, we wont have to discuss the subject on a weekly basis for those wanting to know. I figure if everyone puts up their pics and let inquiring mind's decide for themselves.

LET'S NOT ALLOW THIS TO TURN INTO ANOTHER DISCUSSION ABOUT HUNTING WITH THEM, JUST POST YOUR KILLS!

You'll all have to forgive me as mine are almost all repost's

Also, include all the "good" pics you have of the wound channel, holes, ect. so we can see what has been done.

I use em for everything, rockchucks:

    • My 11 year old daughter's first ever big game animal. 52# javelina w. a .223 69SMK @ 3033fps. Pig went about 30+/- yds. Quartering on @ 45*, took out both lungs and spine . Entry was typical .224" pin hole, exit was half dollar size hole. Lungs were complete Jello.

      Entry.

      Exit.

I took this 55# pig at about 200yds. with a .250 Ackley shooting 100 SMKs at 3200fps. Pig went two wobbly steps. Exit was kind of weird. 3 separate half dollar sized holes.

Patient dogs waiting for the hind legs to chew on...

      • Javelina has to be the smallest big game, if they are indeed big game.

        • Big game according to the AZGFD. But yes, they are pretty small. About the biggest one I have seen was only 65# field dressed. Of course, Coues whitetail are not much bigger. Usually 100# or less field dressed.

Every shot serves a purpose, whether accurate or inaccurate. It will always tell you what you did, and did not do, right. Even if all you have is a fraction of a second to make it, learn from it. So the next one is even better.

Yep, he is the youngest of three boys, turned out to be the biggest. Dad was right, he always used to tell us not to bother him, because some day he'd be big enough to beat up both of us.

Same buck, just a better pic the next day...this is his old man. He stayed totally nocturnal and his kid (the one above) was his lookout making the big dude unapproachable. Had 1 minute of legal light so I took the youngster. Maybe next year

That is a 21" 10 twist, it runs just under 2700 with 175's. Its a killer.

Small, almost unnoticeable entry wound; 2 separate exit wounds with 1 coming out directly behind entry on other side, and the second above the rear leg at an angle. I'm going to guess the round hit bone at some point, shattered either part of the projectile and/or bone, and sent material to exit wound #2.
