  • Crooked 338 Barnes lrx?

Has anyone seen crooked tips on the Barnes lrx or Ttsx? I bought 3 boxes of 338 rum 250 gr vor-tx lr ammo and 1/3 of them have crooked tips. Quite a few the brass looks rough for nickel and dark tarnished bullets. Not really confidence inspiring for their long range load...they are in about the nicest cardboard box I have ever seen though. So will the tips make much difference out to say 700 yards?

I've seen the same thing with their 30 caliber 168TTSX. I've stopped using their bullets altogether due to marginal quality control and sporadic accuracy issues with both TTSX and MatchBurner bullets.

So as an update to this, barnes made it good in my opinion. They sent me 3 new boxes to replace what I had. It appears that it is all from the same lot but these look a bit better. Still a few wonky ones that shouldn't make it through qc but I'm happy. It seems like the number of crooked tips is only a few per box compared to 1/3-1/2 before. I have to say thank you to barnes for doing their very best to take care of a customer.

My .338/210's are pretty bad as well. Seem to shoot fine though.
