The glass/coatings aren’t tier one, put them side by side.

The internal mechanisms are sloppy compared to the other optics.

Again, a good optic for the price. Not on Schmidt, kahles, NF level. And the TT is in another level from them. Thus far the zco is looking to be somewhere in between those.

If I told you a vortex PST gen 2 was as good as a mk5, you’d laugh about it. Same concept.

If someone says they are looking at a Schmidt, NF, or Kahles, quality. I’m not going to recommend a mk5. If they are looking at gen 2 razor, amg, etc, I’ll probably tell them to look at mk5.

The glass and mechanisms are a lower quality and thus represented by a lower price point.
Not laughing . Vortex Razor will hang with NF any day and some prefer them over .
So are NF not tier 1 and Vortex ? Leupold have not updated designs , glass is questionable compared to Vortex and NF , sloppy turrets . Yeah Tier 1 for sure .

I really like the green illumination on my NFs, sonInwas happy to see ZCO use it also. It looks good on my ZCO. I’ll see what it looks like in the daylight today.

The 5-27 is my long range/comp scope now, but my NF 4-16 ATACR remains my go to compact hunting scope as I try to cap weight at 30 oz there.

I still like the overall feel of my various ATACRs turrets better but that is subjective. The ZCO is an excellent scope on all fronts and probably the best on many. Disclaimer is I haven’t handled a TT, but most of the others.

Does anyone have a video of the ZCO turrets?

Past 300 yards is the ZCO parallax much like TT and Minox? Set it and forget it?
Initial tesring indicates the parallex is very 'deep'. I set it at 400 and did not notice any pplx out to 1K. I need to put it on paper, but very pleased at this point.
The image is very sharp at pplx adjust range.

I cant justify chasing the latest and greatest. I just upgraded to the Vortex Razor Gen2 and its the best optic Ive had. It does everything I want and I dont see going any higher up the "Tier" anytime soon. Good luck to everyone that dumps $3500 everytime something new comes out.

I’ve see one so far that I’ve been holding off on posting because I’m pretty sure @arm017 was the one that took it. I know he is getting ready to post his review at some point in the near future.
@MTETM and @just browsing thanks for the responses. I look forward to @arm017 ’s review, but I am an impatient SOB at times.

@JLP.Payette you don’t know what you don’t know

You don’t have to justify your purchases to us. No need to be in the thread if you’re happy about another optic.

In case it's too difficult for some to figure out and except, a lot of guys here have been patiently waiting for this scope to release for the last year. If it's not your cup of tea, no problem you're entitled to spend your money on whatever you want but none of us give a shit either way. So how about giving ZCO their due for releasing what we expect to be a great product and keep the inflammatory comments about guys willing to buy it out of the thread. It's getting old real fast.

I may be slightly jealous, alittle envious, but I didn't think anything in my statement made me sound like asshole. Just my thoughts. Have a nice day nick338.
Unfortunately, you don’t get to be the judge if it made you look like an asshole or not. 😎

Haha... Well that wasn't my intention. No sarcasm was intended by saying "Good luck......" Im sure its a great optic and I am interested, which is why I read this thread and made a comment on it. I wish I could afford to get the latest and greatest.

There are a couple of new vids on YT about ZCO turrets that might belong to the discussion. The concerns are not subjective, I hope they are not representative.

Had a chance to speak with the Zcomp boys at Shot and i can say i am impressed. I will getting another scope in the very near future and I am going to give the Zcomp a shot. I will be going on a big Cal ie 375ct or 416b rifle. I currently have 3 S&B and 2 Kahles on my precision rifles. The only thing i will need to get used to is pulling up on the turrets.

I have been shooting mine since their initial release date. I was first on CS Tactical's list from a year ago! The wait was worth it.
These optics have incredibly clear glass and the adjustments are crisp and clean. Illumination controls are extremely impressive and I enjoy the daylight setting for shooting on black target backers. I will post more as I spend time with them both.

I wholeheartedly agree KYS, I often see shooters making comments like "I don't shoot in low light so don't see a need for illumination" but even with small targets that have black dots I sometimes have difficulty discerning the crosshair or dot even in bright sunlight, the illumination can serve as just a little more contrast especially if your target happens to be in the shadows. Do you prefer the red or the green illumination in these situations? I've only ever had red illumination on my scopes and have wondered if green is actually better in certain circumstances.

Has anyone tried the Spuhr 6001 model?

I know it’s tall enough unless you have a straight rail chassis.

But does the erector housing have enough clearance?

I know ZCO responded about the turret issue, but has anyone heard definitive if this is a localized issue or if the issue has been rectified?

Not trying to poke the bear, simply curious as I should be getting mine soon.

Mine also does have this issue. It's small and probably won't bother me, but I'll be contacting ZCO regardless. They said they were fixing the issue, so I would think this will be contained to the first production run of 527's.

The only two issues I have ever heard against TT:

Reticles. But this is extremely subjective

Doesn’t focus to 25 or less. This is a product of .22 becoming more an more popular in matches. People like to use the same optic. As far as a trainer, you can train with a .22 past 50m and not worry about it. Also, TT’s target consumer is not one who needs a 25m parallax.

I have never, not once, never ever, heard anyone dislike the turrets, glass, or parallax on the optic.

The owner inspects each optic individually before shipping. This combine with low production rates (comparatively speaking) make for as close to 100% success rate as possible.

Does this make other optic manufacturers inferior? Absolutely not. But TT is in a class of its own for more reasons than just having the best glass.

Let’s look at the overall package zcomp is selling:

It has most of not all the features many(most?) people want in one optic. Most optics have some, but not all.

  • Locking turrets
  • Low profile turrets
  • Reticle with .2 mil throughout
  • Daylight bright illumination
  • Red/green selectable illum
  • Fast focus diopter
  • Locking diopter
  • Forgiving parallax
  • Glass as good/slightly less (who knows, subjective) than TT

Can anyone name another optic that has ALL of these?

The only high end optic I have not owned is a Hendsoldt. And March, if you consider that a top tier. I have no experience with them, so I don’t know if they are.

It seemed to me the issue was less of the numbers lining up but the turrets not locking down appropriately, having to wiggle the turret and get the play out to drop it.

Personally I’ve had locking turrets that don’t close easily and it gets really annoying after a while. Especially when you accidentally click one way or the other trying to get it to drop.

Seems almost every scope I’ve ever received the numbers never line up, but with a simple fine tuning you can line them up real nice.

Maybe I’m missing something here? Are y’all having trouble locking the turrets? Or are your numbers and indicator just not perfectly in line?

Try the turrets next time and you’ll see they won’t ever be slightly off. Not even possible.

We decided to add a mount into our inventory made specifically for the ZCo optics for this years SHOT Show. They had a decent feedback. We installed the 1.26” w/20moa on a 4-20 that we used for our display guns. We should have out 0 and 20Moa in 1.26” shipping in two weeks.
