Here’s the deal... I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting a 50 bmg for a long time. I am putting my Short Action Customs 338 Ackley Lapua up for trade only. Built on the Lawton 4500 action and Bartline Kampfield diamond fluted barrel. All metal is melonite treated and ceracoated FDE tan on top by SAC as well. Accuracy is unreal as all SAC stuff is often keyholing at 500yds which is zero and further with hand loads. She loves the 300gr pills! I will discuss load data with seriously interested parties. Custom dies, fireformed brass, fire forming barrel, projectiles, etc available as well.

NOT INTERESTED IN SELLING... ONLY TRADE INTEREST I HAVE IS IN A BARRETT M107A1 / CQ OR DESERT TECH HTI.

It is definitely a work of art and the most accurate stick I’ve ever had the pleasure of being behind the trigger... I just had the bmg bug and figured I’d see if anyone was tired of paying $5-$10 a round😂

If there is anyway you can swing it I would buy a 50 and have it for a while before letting your 338 go. JMHO....I know that may need be in your financial plans but may pay off later.

I had my serious hard on for a Barrett 50bmg semi 6 years ago and got it. Was let down with its lack of accuracy. It’s a 2 MOA gun at the very best. Super fun to shoot nonetheless. Recoil is much like a 3” 12ga turkey load in a semi auto. I’ve recently acquired an HTI with 50bmg and 375CT conversions. VERY accurate system, but recoil is like a 6” turkey load with the 50bmg 🤣. The 375CT is my new love affair. 338LM recoil in a 25lb rifle and superior accuracy out to a mile.

Just my $0.02

That’s kind of my thoughts on the matter as well... I think I will shoot a 375 cheytac much more than the bmg. The more I think on this the more I am leaning toward the desert tech... and the more I re-read the comments above the more I think I should keep this and just buy a desert tech as I know this one is a pure performer and is more than pleasant to shoot... just hard to justify two purchases this large
