I am in your same boat. Today is the day..... I delve into my stash of Reloder 26..... 9 pounds.

Gonna blast a few 150 ELDx out of my 7mm RemMag with 68, 68.5, and 69 grains just to see where it is compared to Reloder 25 on the Hornady book..... since they dont have data for R26 😖
Did a quick ladder Thursday. One was excellent with great SD/ES.
Loaded 50 as I needed loads for a shooting trip Friday and today.
It was a laser at distance today and not having to crunch powder is awesome!!!!

Aaaahhh...the 'ol incipient case head separation trick ;)

Added: I didn't see you posted later. That isn't just a case of not enough lube. It is INCIPIENT CASE HEAD SEPARATION!

I'm glad you found this in the die, and not while firing the next load. If you look at the case wall thickness you can see it starting. During inspections you should run a thin metallic point, i.e. an extended paperclip or O-ring, down to the bottom of the case and feel for a groove there.
I suppose it could have been... But I most certainly didn't use enough lube and it got stuck. This is once fired Lapua 6BR brass I fireformed into Dasher just jamming and shooting. So maybe that round didn't have enough of a jam and it stretched where it shouldn't have. But no issues with the other 599 cases I fireformed and resized. Couldn't notice anything on the inside of 20+ case walls when inspecting with a pick.

I shot a match last weekend and had a heck of a time seeing black-painted targets placed in the shade and shooting South with a bare stainless barrel made for a LOT of glare through my rinky dink scope with cut-rate glass. I took advantage of today's warm temperatures and calm conditions to rattlecan my barrel matte black. All that was on hand was some "grill paint." Oughta work if not I bet some solvent will take it off.

A little paper, tape and some plastic bags made short work of it.

Finally decided to give my bore a good cleaning after 850 rounds. That was a lot of copper416588A5-AD2E-41C1-B7C4-96220D8047DB.jpeg1B9768A2-30C0-4DC3-B0B1-D824E6BFD2D2.jpeg

How was it shooting? What caliber?
It was shooting great actually. Savage 12 LRP in 260 rem. 136gn Lapua Scenar over h4350. I could see all the oxidized copper in the barrel though.
Shot this 5 shot group at 100 the trip before. .156” center to center

shot another group that was around .200809EE893-C995-4900-BFFB-6AB7C0A7490C.jpeg

Loaded up some 6.5 creedmoor with h4350 and 147 eldm. These are test loads for a new gun started at 40gr and went up to 42gr. 42 was getting a little crunchy with powder. The starline brass definitely has less case capacity the hornady.

Found a local deal on some 4350, primed some brass and played with some quickload to figure a starting load for some 88ELDs..

Got this thing delivered today and tested it out annealing 50 pieces of .223 Lapua brass. It's amazingly fast. Took about 2 seconds to anneal each one. It was hard to keep up with it.

Got 600 rounds of 9mm tumbling. Think I’ll step up to some 147 grain and see how I like it over the 124 subs I have been loading.

I had a tray of 1F M118LR brass sitting on my bench for many weeks. All primed and ready to go. Finally going to get some warm temps tomorrow so I loaded up a ladder for the AR10 308/762. By high temps I mean upper 30's. :)

I am going to try to find the OCW range, to find a load that will be resilient to my lack of process control.

Brass M118LR
Bullets 175 gr SMK
Load: Ladder 39.0 gr - 41.7 gr, o.3 gr increments
Powder Hodgdon H4895
Head/Ogive set to 2.235 +-

Question. With a gas gun, M118LR Brass, 175 SMK. What is the reasonable max load using Hodgdon H4895? I assume the Max listed on Hodgdon is a conservative max.

Being the worst kind of procrastinator I woke up at 5am to load 100 rounds for a local match at 9am. Then I shot the match and got 4th with my rinky dink .223 and 77 Noslers.

Resized, trimmed, prepped 400 6.5 Grendel cases... explained to the kids how/why a case is resized and let them resize a few on the 650.

In the process of making my new loading room. New house had a ton more room so the old bench was tossed. View attachment 7104359
Freakin jealous. I had a giant gun/fun room in my old house, 42” high 18” deep shelf built around 2 walls with all of my presses Mounted, shelves underneath for all my gear, etc etc.

Now post divorce/22k a year in child support it’s a kobalt work bench in my garage with no room compared to my old setup lmfao. 3 more years........

i finally found a load my new gas gun likes well enough so I loaded up 200 73gr ELDM’s over 23.6gr of 8208 set at mag length. Then I repainted my 1/3 and 2/3 ipsc targets to take out to the big range Friday (so far I’ve only been able to get it out to 300 yards) and I’ll see how reliably I can hit at 500, 600, 800, and 1k with an 18” WOA bbl and a load that’s probably gonna go subsonic around 850-875.

Got this delivered last evening and got it all set up. Loaded up 50 rounds of .223. It's easy to use and great to have one more zero after the dot for accuracy. I just dump a scoop of powder in the cup and the trickler takes care of the rest. It didn't have any splash of powder kernels like the Chargemaster does so I'll probably get rid of the aluminum foil catch pan. :)

Tumbled a bunch of .223, loaded 50 or so test rounds for my .45, deprimed and tossed some .308 in the ultrasonic cleaner.
