Yes, so do i.

But about 50% of the US population are complete idiots. They elect and are represented by likeminded idiots.

As long as thats the case, we get gridlocked government, illegal aliens running amok, and an out of control welfare state.

The only cure is Apophis 2007PA8, which will swing around again in 2036. It should adjust the economy sufficiently that the lib socialists will no longer have any of other peoples money to use for such silliness.

Look, Commies in general have always loved walls and mounted all sorts of automatic weapons and seeded minefields in order to ensure their efficacy.

This 'resistance' is nothing more than Uncle Remus in white face; "Oh Pleez B'rer Fox, doan t'row me in dat dere briar patch".

It's all just leftist reverse psychology bullshit.

They WANT the wall, they just want their own stamp on it.

Fk 'em.

As I mentioned above, a 'wall' needs to be part of a system. System needs to include:

-- A wall -- that funnels people to legal crossing points.
-- Security along that wall -- to make sure people go to the legal crossing points.
-- Temporary Work Policies... that allow a migrant worker to come to the legal crossing point... fill out papers and receive a temporary <12 months work visa. With a tax withholding, a bracelet ID, an RFID card that must be carried at all times. And a requirement to leave the country for 1 month a year... and return for the next work/picking season. Fill out paperwork... and start again.
-- Severe penalties for employers who employ illegal workers.
-- An end to Chain immigration.
-- Severe criminal penalties for being caught as an illegal.
-- Severe criminal penalties for those (including elected officials) who harbor illegals (sanctuary cities through employers)
-- An immigration policy based on merit, not a lottery or refugee status (Exceptions... refugees who helped the U.S. in times of conflict... translators, agents, embassy workers, etc.) Merit means you are an engineer, doctor, business-person... you are going to come to the U.S. and bring intellectual, real or job-creating property.
-- No voting rights at all until full-citizenship is granted. Not even for dog-catcher.
-- Path to citizenship for someone who signs up for the U.S. military (used to have this... go to any U.S. embassy in the world... meet recruiting officer... sign up... and it's off to basic and, if you want, a path to citizenship.)
-- No welfare, education, benefits... nothing... for migrant workers on <12 month worker visas. For migrant workers, set up a for-fee Medical insurance program... paid for out of their earnings. Their earnings, sent home, will fund schools for their families in their home countries. Families do NOT enter with migrant workers.
-- A system that allows 'professional' immigrants with skills, etc. to use social systems commensurate with their status as taxpayers. But no voting at all, until citizenship is granted after 7 years and application process as it now stands.
-- A language skill test. No temp. work visa/long-term visa unless you have a basic knowledge of English so you can understand and function in society. Fluency a requirement for citizenship for those who qualify.
-- Any violation of a law greater than a traffic ticket means revocation of work privileges, deportation and possible permanent ban. This includes... any kind of immigration violation. Allow an amnesty period for those here to 'go home' long enough to re-apply at border. After amnesty, an illegal caught here will face severe penalty... followed by deportation. Prison Work camps should be an option.
-- The right of the U.S. to refuse anyone who may pose a threat or for any reason (hey, we have enough migrants for this picking season... enough doctors... enough engineers.)
-- A working student visa program to provide opportunity for the best and the brightest from around the world. Coordinated with immigration policy to try and 'retain' top students in useful fields (ie STEM and medicine and, IMHO, even some of the skilled trades -- welder, machinist, horticulture, etc) and offer them a path to citizenship if they are going to be productive, useful members of society.

I am sure there are some I am forgetting.

But this is not rocket science.

The problem is that the left needs the voters and swoons over open borders... their mantra is one world Marxist Utopia... which is bullpuckey. The right-leaning Chambers of Commerce want cheap labor and low wages... kept down by a worker surplus. BOTH sides... want a wedge issue to fire up their voters so that they can have/retain/regain/seize power... to... be in power. And push their agendas.

Without immigration as an issue... millions of zealots (on both sides) don't show up at the poles to put the power-hungry... into power. Why try and get elected on doing good for your country... when there is Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt that you can play on and use to increase your power.

This problem should be solvable with a bit of common sense in about a week. The ideas are out there. The technology is out there. We can have a thriving immigration system that helps build the country in amazing ways. But noone in power wants that. They want an issue, not a solution. Because the problem keeps them in power.

Once the problem is solved... well, then they can't get elected to solve it, can they?

Cheers,

Sirhr

If I were Trump I'd have CBP searching everything coming in from Mex. As in GTFO of the vehicle, put dogs in every vehicle, make truck drivers unload their entire cargo, ... Basically bring anything coming through our borders with Mex to a halt. I don't believe any new laws would be required and the commie judges couldn't do shit. Mex would be over a barrel, just the right place to start negotiations on what they're going to do to stop the flow of people.

I'd prefer invading Mex, but no way in hell congress would vote for it.

Since when does the president need congress approval? Just use drones and don’t declare war. That’s what Obama did all over the world.

It's been stated a few times over, that many of the 'illegals' don't divulge where they actually came from, ergo it "is not possible" to return/deport them.

Which tells me that it is high time to invest in parachute futures because though a country can 'deny' a plane from landing, they can't 'unjump' a 'chutist from landing. And to toss the illegals out of the plane on a static-line is both a successful manner and could be an entertaining venture. Especially if done over islands.

Remote islands.
Easy fix.
Ship ass back to Mexico.
They found their way here, find your sorry ass back home.
As Mexico has to deal with these "visitors" they'll stop them at their southern/all their borders.

As I see it the others are cutting into mexico's dream of border jumping.
You would think they cut out the competition?

Build the wall and then defend it!

They came over the Mexican border or the northern white Mexican border. light them on fire and Catapult them over either border, they are invaders, treat them as such.

Is a trebuchet an nfa item as in aow?
If we used a moter to reset it and a chute to load it would it be simiautomatic.?
Cattle prod to load chute.
If we used a rubber band on the trigger would that constitute full auto?
Form one or do I have to have an ffl?

I'm looking for a 1 round per minute cyclic rate to be efficient
A 100 moa acuracy would be nice given projectiles vary.

A balistic calculator would be nice.
Windage and elivation servos are going to be a must have to take this competition
Seriously, maybe a kestrel link.

I think I need some navy guys on this one? Maybe army artillery at the least.
I'm used to dropping stuff from planes so will need help.

I've been searching around to find some history of border security in terms of fences, slat walls, etc., and not finding all that much. Then I found this page:

https://www.axios.com/immigration-s...ico-fcfef592-03d4-4cee-9260-e4fb2929d56d.html

Which has this graphic:

Wall.png

I also found some legislation from the Clinton and Obama eras that funded some of the above and need to go back and dredge it up. IIRC, there was a $74B bill during the Obama years. To lock down the border, we're going to have to spend way more than $5.6B. More:

If were talking about methods that, although no politician in the US would ever consider, nor any judge allow, but would still yet be a helluva lot of fun, i want a illegal alien cannon.

One of the 16 inchers from the Missouri would work. Just toss in the illegal, a parachute (for humanitarian purposes) and 2 powder bags. Traverse, elevate, then send him back to his hometown.

Our ideas have similar chances of implementation.
How about a big assed air cannon? They could be shot over the wall and made to land on a huge inflatable pillow.

Regardless of a wall, a fence, a moat, a minefield, or a dirt berm any obstacle not under overwatch is not an obstacle. I seem to remember that getting repeated ad nauseum while we were taught how to build obstacles. The breaching and blowing them up afterwords was the rewarding part. I have yet to hear how the defense in depth/overwatch portion would be funded or work. I assume BP since they already have that mission.

Best lines out of the movie, only Jack Nicholson himself could pull off without a single blink...

"And my existence while grotesque and incomprehensible, to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you talk about parties; you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall! We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you use them as a punch line. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!"

I'm surprised to read this and will not believe it until I see the signed budget:

"Border barriers -- the topline funding number, the location and the actual structure chosen for the barriers are still under discussion. Note that Democrats have clearly moved off their position of no money for border barriers. Republicans accept $5.7 billion is a non-starter. It's not a question of if there will be barriers. The key now, per multiple sources involved is narrowing the gap on number, location and type of barrier."

My neighbor ‘s dog was coming over to my yard and causing problems. I spoke with them. We agreed that if I saw the dog again in my yard I would eliminate the problem.

$0 spent, no fence needed. No problems since.

In regards to illegals. The tools are already there they just need to be dusted off.

There was a guy on the radio this morning saying Cruz's bill to use El Chapo money had no chance because of all the Federal law enforcement agencies who were already counting up their El Chapo, asset forfeiture money. He said "They" are not going to let that happen...

All I have to say is that if Federal law enforcement is powerful enough to stop an elected Senator then the country is already completely and totally gone and we are living in a police state.

IMO, it was a horrible idea to incentivize law enforcement for fun and profit with these crazy asset forfeiture laws. They absolutely have a massive and unavoidable incentive to seize as much as they can for themselves, not to uphold the law. It is ridiculous and many injustices have been perpetrated under color of law. Constitutionally the Executive really can't appropriate anything.
