Quote sent you an email a month or so ago....a member at Harvard is trying to set up a .22 PSR program I suggested he speak with you for tips.

If you think you might have ideas for him or that Harvard could play a role in your interests I'll resend the introduction.
I remember that now, had quite a lot going on with keeping timelines, etc., at the time it came in. Please resend.

Thank you.

Party seemed pretty competent and motivated. I of course flogged the sales of a Vudoo to him.

Apologies in advance if there is blowback but I wouldn't send the intro if I thought he was going to be that guy.

Wasnt taking the shot yet. Wife was just up there snapping a few pics of me getting set up. ;)
What we do when posing for porn in the presence of the wife is what we will do when in a real situation.......

Looking forward to you guys coming back to Granby. I order up classes in January for the year, can I keep you guys on my schedule?

You know it pmclaine we are working the details out.

Until then I was digging around the gun safe and forgot I had this can so I put it on my V22 until my AMTAC Fire Ant gets released from jail. This will work until then.

Worked on getting the Krieger bbl & PTG DBM CeraKoted in graphite black to match the action's melonite finish yesterday afternoon. Think it was a good match - glad I took the time to get 'er done. Used the same PTG Eley EPS reamer I've been using on my 40X/XB repeaters - shoots great at 50yds, and very respectable at 200. Haven't had a chance to shoot it at 100yds yet, but confident it won't disappoint with SK Rifle & Pistol Match. Only disappointment so far - Manners didn't use the Elite GAP camo finish that leaves the carbon fiber visable in the black areas, instead covered with black pigment. I kinda like being able to see the carbon fiber - think it adds just a touch of cool to the appearance.

Looks nice! What is the scope you have on it?

It's an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56, mil version. Tried these scopes on a Stiller 2500XR & 40X repeaters - including doing tall target & box tracking tests with them - and decided they would work just fine. They also focus down to 25yds. Have been shooting a couple of them on 22RF repeaters for over a year now, and have yet to have an issue or problem of any sort with them - so when Cabela's ran the $999.99 sale on the close-outs that Athlon dumped, I cashed in all my Cabela's club points & got one for $520 cash for the V22.

Picked up the barreled action today. Cleaned up the action and barrel. Dropped in a Jewel trigger. Vortex PST GenII 5-25 and XLR Element Chassis. Put some CCI SV down the tube to get her up and running.

Groups were not great but didn't really expect much with it being CCI and very first rounds through the barrel. After 50 rounds of CCI tried some Eley Edge to get a true idea of how it might shoot. Initial Impression is VERY positive.

50 Yard groups were excellent and 100 yards also pretty good. These were indoors so no wind but had to shoot from their bench which is awkward for me. Can't wait to try some more ammo and shoot prone where I usually shoot better.

First Impressions: went with the Sinister (OD green with black splatter), put an Athlon Ares 4.5-27 on it. Easily the nicest gun I own. Action is readiculously smooth and you can run it hard. Accuracy was good but all I had was crap ammo on hand (CCI standard and Eley Target). Love the look, balance, trigger, mags.....everything. Waiting on some good ammo and a better mount to come in for some real testing. Put about 200 rounds through it this morning and it's just getting smoother and more accurate. The squirrels are not going to like this-Norcal911

PS-Vudoo was great to deal with. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and beat their quoted time line

Hey all, if you have had friends dragging their feet have them see this! The introductory price on the Grayboe line is 2195 for the first 500...All of our customers have been great and we have reached the 500 limit. That being said after Friday they will be going to the true MSRP of 2395.00, so if you have been waiting hurry up! It is only a 500 deposit until it ships, so you will pay the full price after the new year!!!

Another question....

I'm planning on running Eley, Lapua, and Norma match ammo 90% of the time. There might be some times when some high velocity ammo for knocking some squirrels or other varmints.

I was thinking about the 20" barrel, mine will have a supressor on it all the time. Then I'll be at 26" like my match rifle. With ammo right at the super Sonic level I'm thinking the 20" will slow down just below SS in the barrel and supressor, but then I'm worried about potential transonic transition in the can.......

So still trying to make barrel length decision

...............Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Paul D Parrott

I didn't cut their balls off. "I'm pretty disappointed" is FAR from cutting their balls off. I still want one, I'm still going to get one. It means just what it says, disappointed. I could have easily called, but I got busy with work and this holiday running around BS. During the day at work, it's kinda hard for me to disappear at work and have an important conversation on the phone.

I have money burning a hole in pocket. I just need to have some questions answered on the build.

You are right, perhaps "cut balls off" is a bit strong.

...but as you are busy likely so are they. Give them a second try and do while you can save money.

I talked with Both Mike and Paul at VGW before I ordered my RAVAGE.
They Both informed me that at one time they did "bed" these rifles as posted earlier.
But after testing found no real advantage to glass "bedding" the recoil lug, so it was deemed not necessary to improve accuracy.
On the 3 Bolt Knob options, Paul sent me pics of the 3 offered. The Middle option is closest to the custom knob that is on Mike's rifle in the Original post.
As far as barrel selection goes, VGW's own ACE barrels have shown a more Consistent accuracy over the other brands tested and used so far, per Mike.
Hope this helps clear up any conflicting information to others.
As of now, the build time is 6-8 weeks, closer to 6 weeks per Paul, but with holidays??

I went with the 20 MOA rail mount, because of the ability to zero to 25 yards for sure.
I have a spare NIB Vortex PST GEN 2 in 5-25 SFP MOA scope to mount on it along with another SilencerCo Sparrow waiting on Form 4 transfer.

I truly appreciate VGW design and application concept.
I've long shot 40x rifles before PRS even existed or the term "Tactical Trainers" evolved.

With todays technology and advancements, the options are endless in how one wants to build their rifle to their own personality.
