And you have exactly what operational or competative shooting ability or experience TROLL.
Well, we are on a roll now.

Off topic of the funny shit :)

I think Rex gave a relatively expensive seminar at our private/club range.

I can only add third hand info but it appears that he will not be allowed back.. I was not there and not 100% sure of the details, but that doesn’t sound like an experienced long range instructor who knows how to manage FOF and groups of people. BTW there are a couple on the hide that have first hand experience.

I will say that I did find his videos entertaining. For the guys arguing non-stop that you must have a duplex without any adjustable turrets or objective, must zero 2.75” high at 100 on your pie plate, to be an effective hunter and all because you must be fast on target— lol.. For these types, his videos might be a value.

Maybe they’ll get inspired and take a real class.. the only downside is that now they might take the wrong class.

Now back to the gut busting :)

This is clearly the wrong thread to try to be serious, but what's the deal with this HR match? Sounds interesting. It's only 13 hours away from me though...:-(

I did google it and found some info, but I don't know if it is up to date or what.

HR is a match that requires 20 shots to be fired in 20 minutes, 5 rds each at 600, 800, 900, an 1k yds. The targets are a black circle MOA in size, w/a 2 moa pencil outer ring on white. A moa scoring ring hit equals 10 points a 2 moa hit equals 5 point an anything outside of those gets you the look from j-huskey, (here) the match director an property owner. There are 4 classes .223, 308/30-06, derivative an any thing goes up to 300wm, save 7STW an such, that damages the steel. No sighters, no wind flags, no bench rest equipment ect. There are a few other rules but this is the short version. Highest score to-date is a 195 shot with a 223, max score (a clean is 200 points) Practice day is always on the Friday prior to match day.PM me if you what to shoot there an we'll start the ball rolling, as it is a invitation only match. Next match is July 28 w/ practice the 27th There will be a August match an I believe a Sept match as well, then nothing until Feb of 2019.
Great group of guys that will help anyone with any skill prior to getting on the line, then do not believe anything coming for their mouths. 6 people to a relay at a time. The range is about 25-30 minutes south of Auburn/Opelika Alabama

edit for spelling

Fuck me.....that sounds like a good match.

ive always loved the "no sighters" and "no bullshit equipment" matches.

i love me some smallbore......but theres just something about shooting coats/ pants/ shoes and all the other highly specialized bullshit you need to compete........takes away from the "purity" of it.

Fuck me.....that sounds like a good match..
It is, some of the best folks you'll ever what to meet an the back rounds/experience there, will astonish all but the most paid worldly traveled person. We have lost some good folks over the past few years to different illness an age but still have a clan, that could be your worst nightmare if/when shit ever went hot.

If you clean it everyone who has ever shot there from around this rock, will be in shock. One guy came close with a 195 using a 223 an the whole crowd was pulling for him. j-huskey (here) who owns the range can tell you the quality of those who have shot there in all the years, past. Many have came from lands far away, many who work or have worked for uncle have gave it their best shot but H/R is still getting the last laugh. Max score (a clean) is 200 an we all have seen the time were a 75 - 80 would win the match. Looks easy, sounds easy, but mother nature has always to-date had the last laugh. H/R has beat my ass into the ground more times than not. On practice day it all looked an was so easy to shoot a high score, then match day everyone went to shit. The list of H/R excuses exceeds Franks bandwidth. Mother nature has a lock on the scoring truck, as when it comes back the shooting environment changes on Que.

It is a hard A/O to gage the river of wind, but it's easier today than it was before the wind took out a few trees. The mirage is so thick at times, you can walk on it.

I never said that it sounded easy. 1 MOA targets are the same size as the 10 ring on an F-Class target. How many guys can clean an F-Open target at 1000 yards on any consistent basis even with the best equipment?

A clean run is do-able in the right conditions for sure. But I also live in Alabama so I know how quickly our weather turns from sunny and calm to sideways rain in Tornadoes.

I'm not going to invite someone to Rattlesnake range in Washington and say "If you don't shoot a possible (which nobody has done)...you suck."

Can I come to?

Nobody ever said anything like that. The rub comes from all the internet shooter who think shooting < moa at 1-300 yds is the std everyone lives by. Guys who shoot outside of the net know shooting a moa or better at distance is far harder than 20 shots at 300 an under, but all you hear is my stick will shoot 0.x moa all day every day. Which it might a shorter ranges but to do it for 20 rds at 4 different distances not only test the stick an ammo but the shooter as well, an those that shoot know that as fact. Some one, some day will clean HR an I hope I am there to see it done. I doubt it will ever be done with much more that a 223 as normally after those relays mother nature steps up her game.We have had a number of IBS champs come to show us how to do it an it did not go as they had planned.

These are always fun threads, lol.

We need a grudge match challenge Snipers Hide series/ TV show. Make it fun kinda like Top Shot, envision all kinds of guns and shooting sports combined.

That would be more than interesting. Frank could start his own TV show about shooting, gear, tactics an Midget Porn all wraped into a 60 minute show!
Frank and 1J04 doing an animated, hand-waving discussion of Midget Porn tactics might just go viral.

(in more ways than one)

Well I think I have found the reason as to why Saudi's can't fucking hit anything. ;)

I saw him shooting a closed vehicle course with his son the other day. Can I come?

Hi,

LOL, don't even get me going on Saudi's lol. Now the Emirates SF guys can be a different story. I will have to tell you about their recent run in with a Yemen sniper in person.

You available for IDEX?
Most definitely you can come out for our media day we are going to have for new rifle and cartridge.

Corporate warriors make too many comments on the Internet. Since, you brought it up give us the entire Yemen narrative. We love bedtime stories. Don't leave out the blood and guts.

Back to Plaster, why are we grouping him with T-Rex?

I totally agree with you about group size and distance, but it is about impossible to test a rifles group at distance, as you know.

Testing at short range is useful, as at least we can mostly disregard wind. Hitting at mid to long range, is what matters, but so many factors conspire to mask the weapons potential, that all we can really say is what the shooter can do on a given day.

Just rambling now, but at 400-600 yards on a calm day, I have no trouble hitting sub moa, probably like most here. I shot a match in WY a few years ago, and we had 30-40 mph winds. I never hit the 400 yard target, which was a fair bit bigger than moa.

Shit kids, at the rate this thread is going there's going to be a new 'sniper only' forum where you have to mail in your DD214 or give the contact info for your prime as well as a hand written letter from your KO.

@THEIS private plane? I'm not spending 10k to go to fucking Adu Dahbi just to learn about the new 6.6 Creedmoor and dodge women with hairlip. :p

LOLOLOLOL @TheGerman

Etihad or Emirates, no private plane and I promise no Creedmoor OR hairlips lol.
The Russians from Ras al Khaimah bring in their best girls for that week lol. You may see some if you search Zuma in Abu Dhabi.

Edited to add: Don't bother searching Zuma. They don't have any pics of them lol.
