Tom has been adding some new features to the range. He has new berms at 200, 300, 400, 500, 700, 1100, 1200 and one mile. That's in addition to his existing berms at 600 and 1000 yards. There is steel and orange clays on every berm.

He has also created a new dedicated area for handgun, carbine and shotgun training.

He has an Open Range this weekend July 13 & 14 from 1000 - 1800

Not sure if you are close with Tom or not but I know the primary complaint is the limited amount of steel for myself and a few others. Sucks on open range days when you have 30 people aiming at the same 5 targets. Number 1 reason I don’t go out there.

Also, a better back stop area at a mile would really help spot misses. Grass is usually tall and can be a pain in the ass to see where your bullet hits.

You may have missed my post stating there is a new berm at the 1 mile target. You can easily see your misses. Plus new berms at 200. 300, 400, 500, 700, 1100 and 1200 yds. There is one piece of steel at each berm except for 600 and 1000yds which each have 3 pieces of steel. With the addition of orange clays on each berm you can pick out your own target with 30 shooters.

Tom has been doing a lot of work to improve the range.

Definitely positive improvements. Hopefully with time more steel will go up at every distance. Also nice if they have a means to go down range and paint the steel when necessary. May have to give TVP another try!!

Also the guy complaining about one steel at each mark. There are several steels at 600-1000 and steel is for beginners. You should be shooting at the 100's of sporting clays he puts out. I mean you smile like a little girl the first one you hit at 1k. You will stand up and puff out your chest the first sporting clay you hit at a mile.

@RampedRaptor Read the post he made it super simple with pictures. Show up with in the last three months, and don't be a little bitch.

No need to call anyone a bitch, we're all on the same side here.

You're right about the excitement of hitting clays at 1000 yd and a mile.

Steel is for beginners?

Hitting Clays at 1000 is fun, however, no chest puffing required.

I did not see his other post. After looking at his pictures, the mile setup looks a lot better so big plus there.

My schedule is quite busy. I don’t get out much but when I do, I usually go to Rayners. I prefer to shoot small steel targets and enjoy the day.

Judging by your big man internet talk, I infer you probably aren’t all that cool in person to be around. There’s also a >50% chance that you don’t bring a whole lot of skill to the range also.

Thanks for the update OP.

Lol I promise you, your first hit on clay pigeon at a mile, you stuck out your chest, just a little. Secondly, you talk about my big man internet talk. I was not the one making dumb ass comments on a public forum, negatively and wrongly affecting someone's reputation. I personally have seen over the years the amount of rediculous time and Money Tom has spent on that place. It's one of those things where you were complaining about something, because of your lack of skill. I never had a problem with seeing my hits at a mile, even with the 260, guess your (a whole lot of skill) at the range is not that good. I will be down on Monday, stop by we can shoot together and you can see the improvements.

Sorry to see this post go downhill.

Let's quit the bickering please.

Thank you.

Enough of the stupid arguments and dick measuring.

Haven't made it to TVP this year but this thread is motivating.

Big +1 for the pistol/close range rifle pit. Overdue addition.

I don't spend any time inside of 500 unless I'm truing dope for a new load so one steel at each short range line is a non issue.
