I really like how the turrets operate on my two Sig Tango6 scopes. Pull to unlock, push to lock, and they remain unlocked while pulled out. There's no spring tension to overcome and once they're unlocked, they stay that way until pushed down.

What other scopes in the $700-$2,000 price range operate this way?

My lrtsi does. Locking turrets is what the feature is called, usually well advertised.

I think some leupolds, s&b, nightforce all have the option. It may not be on all models but it is at least available from most manufacturers.
