Cowboy has a good ground game too. But that would be great.

Cowboy has the advantage on the ground of course, he also has the advantage on the outside. Im scared he will get into a a punching match with the Irish idiot and then get knocked out. He does like to brawl on occasion.

I’m thinking that Cowboy won’t fight much longer, if at all After this fight.

I used to love ufc. The way they make the fight cards pisses me off though. So much so, i quit watching. Fuck it. Rhonda rousey as an example...gave her the belt, then fed her softball opponents for the longest time. The way the matches are determined turns me off to the whole thing.

I don't know that Rhonda was fed meatballs. I just don't think that women's MMA, in the UFC, was that deep at the time. The talent wasn't there and that is why she was so dominant. She fought the best they had at he time Zingano, Tate, and such. But she was just leaps ahead of them. She wouldn't hold a candle to Schevchenko and of course she couldn't make it very far against Nunes. And most of the fighters she defended against are gone. Women's MMA just evolved to fast, Rhonda could not evolve, nor could alot of those earlier fighters.

I agree that the match ups are made for money, not as a product of rankings. But that is the problem we have where the promotional agency runs the rankings, the fights, the fighters.....they put making their shareholders money above who we might determine who earned the shot. I despise "running back" title fights.

miesha damn near took rhonda, and all rhonda did was run from her after that fight. wouldn’t give her a rematch. When HH kicked her across her sniveling little face, that was pure fucking gold.
Being a champion when you are winning is easy. It’s how you handle defeat that REALLY defines a champion. Rhonda flunked that test. Hard.

Too bad Covington is such a cringe caricature, he is a good fighter and a tough SOB, but hard to look past his theatrics. Peter Yan is a beast though. Amanda didn't look as dominant, if anything it looked like she was exposed some. Alex vs Holloway was a good fight, Volkanavski just went in more prepared with a better game plan, also his cardio is fucking amazing. I don't think he took a breath through his mouth until round 5. Oh yea and Aldina is scary........

Mack Brown coined a phrase to describe the cataclysmic fall from grace of the Texas Longhorns following their NC season. He said they were "rolling their helmets out onto the field and expecting to win."

Eating your own cooking. Believing the hype. Call it what you will, it is the major danger when you're on top- and Rousy was undeniably on top. She started doing commercials. She got into Hollywood. She started listening to that idiot trainer of hers that told her she could box with Holly Holm.

Rousy didn't make women's mma. She made it popular. When you're the king- or queen- sitting on the top, it's easy to get fat and lazy, and forget that there is someone training to kick your teeth in while you're doing a Swimsuit shoot for Sports Illistrated. The queen is eating cake and the contender is sharpening her knives.

She was he best female UFC fighter in her weight class at that time. She wasn't fed meatballs as much as she fought the available talent. Her success increased the talent pool.

Don't dislocate your shoulder by patting yourself on the back when you get that submission in training. There will ALWAYS be someone stronger/faster/younger/better looking/more talented looking to break your elbow.

Rousy was hawt when in fighting form. Her between training cycle pics are downright scary.

so picks for this weekend?

Conor McGregor Donald Cerrone I am picking Cowboy, I think he is smart enough to take it to the ground and submit the bastard. That is unless the fix is in.

Holly Holm
Raquel Pennington Holm gets this one done on points, don't see it being too exciting

Maurice Greene Aleksei Oleinik Olenik by submission round 1, if it goes past round 1 they will both be gassed and the only losers will be us watching

Claudia Gadelha Alexa Grasso Grasso out points her

Diego Ferreira
Anthony Pettis Not sure, I would go with Pettis but lately he has looked terrible. I lean towards Diego by TKO.

Also Barber TKO Roxanne.

My picks are a death sentence. So I’m just gunna go with the right column this time. Seem to have better luck that way. I’m a huge Cowboy fan, but I can’t get excited for this card. Who’s on the right column anyway?
