Kinda funny... The Mexicans send their guys to the borders with loaded rifles...our guys are going to the border empty handed it seems in all the pics I see it's a joke.

From the article -
"They drew their weapons when they saw the two U.S. soldiers . . . " and "While the two U.S. troops were on the south side of the security perimeter, officials say that they were still north of the Rio Grande . . . "

Which side of the Rio Grande were the Mexican soldiers on?

Either the Mexican soldiers saw the US soldiers "on the other side of the river" or "the same side of the river we were on".

If it was "the other side of the river", what are they - stupid?

It if was "on the same side of the river we were on", it appears they must have been on our side of the border.

It's happened before, way more often than you would realize.
A number of recorded incidents of BP being fired on, by MexMil who were escorting drug mules and escorting coyotes and migrant groups.

One armed hmmv would cross, fire, and back back across a bit, fire again, then leave. He always got back across b4 agents could get close enough to fire back....

That shit happens regular enough. Agents get disciplined for talking out of school about it. Gets hid in the white noise.

Let's see.... cross the real border.... which can be the river, and there is our dirt. U.S. soil, THEN the fence. So, if u south of the fence, u still on us, and north of the river.

Sometimes this happens for nefarious reasons, sometimes it is just a mistake.

The Mexican troops brought in to handle shit on the Mexican side are often not from that area. They honestly don't know where the border is. They see a big ass fence and think that is it.

There are lots of places where the border isn't defined at all, because it is in the middle of a huge wide, seasonally dry wash that might be a mile wide. From the actual border, it might be 1/2 mile south to the first Mexican levee and another 1/2 mile or more north to the levee on the American side.

The fence gets built wherever the engineers figure is the best place. It could be on the border, on the south side of the levee, on the north side of the levee....the in between is no man's land where all kinds of fuckery happens.

Seriously?? Did you go to an American school and get a diploma? Texas is separated from mexico by the rio grand.. a river.. hence the term “wetback”. If you wanna get real technical, when the republic of Texas fought of the Mexican army without federal help Santa anna signed away all water rights to the rio grand so we own all the river, not just our side. So now not only are we being invaded by illegals but by armed foreign soldiers too? Why isn’t this nationwide news?

Pardon my international ignorance, but what is it that Mexico has to offer that prevents us from closing the borders completely?
There are $600B in legal goods going across the border annually. Keeping it open for legal commerce makes sense. No need to shut it completely- just shut all points that arent legal/controlled crossing points. Everything one and everything not crossing at a legal point gets a burrrrrp from an AC-130

If we would stop handing out free cheese, the rats would stop coming over....

Cut off ALL social benefits including medical assistance, food, education, housing and everything to anybody not a citizen or permanent resident.
Emergency services rendered to legal visitors can be paid for by them, or billed to their embassy (like many other countries do).
Make sure employers had the fear of God in their hearts about hiring illegals thanks to the personal (not corporate) penalties for it.
If you want to ask for asylum, you can present yourself at a valid entry point, anyone else gets an immediate ride back to their country of origin, or if they refuse to say, get kicked back to the country they crossed illegally into ours from.
Those wishing to immigrate must wait their turn for visas and paperwork before showing up to the border.

Most Importantly of all:
Cut off all the avenues of sending money out of this country without being a verified citizen, permanent resident / taxpayer.

Then you would see a huge drop in illegal immigration.

But as it is now, can you actually blame the illegal immigrants for trying?
Cross the border and get free everything... and if you happen to get caught... still get free everything.. on the slight chance you get sent back, just try again...

When I did my time in the army you could enlist as a illegal and get citizenship. Nothing like serving with someone that wants what you got bad enough to stand beside you and fight for the right. Makes all other illegals look like trash.

Parts of your statement are patently wrong. There is nowhere in Texas that isn't bordered by a River: The Rio Grande. NO dry washes, no question of where the border is. It's the fargin River. I'm a Texan, and I've lived and/or hunted along many parts of the border. Even when the fence is a half mile from the river, the River is the border.
Mexicans, especially LEO and Drug Cartels, all consider the first 100 miles of US border land to be "Occupied Mexico". Go down to Brownsville, site of the Battles of Palo Alto, and Resaca De Los Palmas, and you will see most business signs are in Spanish, and the culture is like on the OTHER side of the border. The (vast) majority of politicians on the US side are Hispanic surnamed. Most people working down there, firmly in the US, are unable to speak English. Culturally, the Rio Grande Valley is Mexican. As also described above, the Cartels have free rein, and use the Mexican military to cover their excursions across the river at shallow points. Frequently.
In the winter months, the two most representative populations are Canadian Nationals and Mexican nationals.

So Mexico is the 3rd largest exporter of goods to the US behind Canada and China, so why with all the sales of goods to the US do they still have people pouring into our country for "a better life"?

Seems to me like theres nothing we get from them we can't produce right here.

Because like just about every other 3rd world country, the Elites, as in the politicians / Rich / Ruling Class keep everything for themselves thanks to the laws being all worked out in their favour.

Here in the USA, thanks to the not yet fully corrupted rule of law, they have to share the wealth a bit and give at least some to the workers, hence we have an actual (if rapidly shrinking) middle class.

Mexico has some amazingly rich people, as do many other "dirt poor" places.
I had relatives in Nigeria for quite some time, the place counts as "dirt poor" except the rich are amazingly rich, so rich that you are not considered well to do, unless your wife is living in a fancy hotel in London spending all day shopping on High street, while the husband enjoys their pick of servants / mistresses back at home.
Take China for example also, the better part of the population is "dirt poor" and struggles to make ends meet, but while they are slowly changing into a middle class, the rich are still filthy rich, so rich they are busy buying everything they can in other countries to help stash their money.

You'll notice all these "starving" countries in Africa where the government seems to have plenty of money to pay for expensive weapons and plenty of soldiers.

Why do you think the big corporations here in the USA are trying as hard as they can get rid of all their USA based employees and just do everything off shore? Well they want in on that racket of keeping all the money for themselves & not sharing any.

I saw this the other day on the interwebs somewhere else. The sad thing is that it will probably get pushed under the rug like everything else because we are just too nice.

You obviously haven't spent a lot of time in Yuma, Arizona where there are miles and miles of dry washes, which is where I was drawing that example from. We had our share of incursions there.

They've been doing this for a loooong time now and just keep getting away with it. It's total disrespect for our country, they just use us to prop up their shitty 3rd world country, putting off an inevitable war over wealth distribution.

Which can and will happen here too if something isn't done.

And usually the answer is communism.

I think it should still be offered. I'd think that if someone wants to be a citizen bad enough to enlist in the army and stick it out and get out with a honourable discharge, they have the makings of a good citizen, possibly a lot better than many born here and we should keep them (and their immediate family if they promise not to be on welfare or unearned government assistance for a good amount of time).

That chart should read "What US Outsourced to Mexico". Jobs Americans won't do my ass. Not for $3hour. When is that shit gonna be stopped? Caterpillar has their factory right on the border with US. Just so they don't have to pay American workers. They aren't the only one.

Am I wrong for wishing the Americans involved, would have opened fire and dish ragged those Mexicans? Im not even mad at Mexico for that incident. I question our directives and ask why WE are not as aggressive with our border.

Ever try and buy an 'American' pickup these days?

Ram- Mexico
Silverado - Mexico
GMC Sierra- Mexico
F150-Mexico 2009-2014
Nissan Fronteir - Mexico
Toyota Tacoma - Mexico until 2015

The Toyota Tundra is about the only 'American' pickup left although my Tacoma was made in Texas (probably by Mexican hands though).

Reading the story, I does sound pretty suspicious . The Mex. detail knew they were on our side of border . The 2 US patrol were halted, momentary disarmed and detained for short while and then told to go .
1st thing it sounds like to me, Makes me think that the 2 US troops were going to run into some cargo being shuffled across . It reads like a Mex. Fed. patrol detail that were out there , ran an interception and just doing what there paid for on there side-job to do . They were stopped and held/detained by armed force, for a time period , before they were let go, as to let there merchandise cross and keep the route unobstructed .
.
