Best adjustable gas block?

I'm using a Superlative Arms. Its decent, but it seems to leak ALOT and the adjustment instructions are terrible - very vague and teeny tiny print hard to read.

Any other recommendations?

Thanx.

I like SLR's.

They are easy to clean & adjust & so far no issues with a half dozen or so of them other than being more expensive than most others.

They are designed to be able to be taken apart easily & it's a patented design, so I just use their recommended procedure every 1,000 rounds or so. Only takes a few minutes.............takes longer to remove the rail & put it back on.

SLR is the only one I have seen that works when actually used heavily. There are too many things to go wrong with an AGB. With the bootleg adjustable carriers now on the market, that would be my recommendation if it fits what you need to do. They need to come out with a large frame carrier.

I've broken two SLR Sentry 7's. I broke the detents. Now, to be both clear and fair, it was on the same 7.5" 556 gun with an Echo trigger... but the detent broke twice nonetheless. SLR was incredibly responsive both times and made every effort to make it right.

If it tells you anything, despite these issues, I still run a Sentry 7 on my 18 inch SPR and it has been 100% with limited rounds. I like the company's products (fantastic rails) and that they will stand behind what they sell. Just be aware that not all applications may be good fits.

Yes, SLR is great to deal with..............I've used a lot of their rails as well, & they are as good as anything else available, including Geiselle, IMO. They have a long barrel nut for stability & are easy to get on & off & the finish is unsurpassed.

I like my JPs but I have 2 POF versions too. Both are great. Funny thing is on my "cheap" 7.5 sbr build, I threw on a Joe Bob adj gas block ($25) and it's doing just as good.

Cheap shit works when you shoot a hundred rounds a year. Put 5k a year through the same gun and you quickly learn how shitty almost every AGB is. It's not a question, it's a fact

I went with a SuperlArms. Its gootten good reviews by seriosu shooters.

Still... prolly best to use the original GB.

True story. I've been using cheap AGB's for a couple years now and just tossing them when I get a new barrel. Probably even recommended it on here.
But my last one actually burnt out the adjustment screw threads. I was fiddling with the adjustment one day because it kept moving around on me, when I loosened the brass set screw the adjustment screw almost fell right out.
FWIW I've killed two SLR's also. My new plan is to use a mid priced AGB like a Seekins and see how it holds up.

That's why I really am a fan of the bootleg carrier. Don't have any of those issues and get similar results. You can't dial it as close/fine but it works as a 90% solution without all the negatives of an AGB.

TonyTheTiger and Primus, have you tried the Superlative Arms AGBs? I'm at 6k in two years on one 16in build with no issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't coming. This is bleed off mode, not restrictive, curious if either of you have XP.

Here’s what I do:

Hard use defensive weapons get Black River Tactical gas block inserts and either Gemtech SBC’s or LMT e-carriers, depending on if I want the rifle to be able to do suppressed / unsuppressed or just dedicated suppressed. The three rifles that have the Gemtech SBC’s are my travel rifles that include a pistol, a 14.5” pin & weld, and soon to be a magnified SPR/DMR style rifle.

My hunting rigs get SLR Ti AGB’s. No sustained high rates of fire.

I would like to build two high-end DMR rigs on Seekins Chassis and continue to use Proof Carbon Fiber Barrels, one a 20” 5.56, maybe .224 Valk, similar to my hunting rig and a SP10 6.5CM big block on a 22” +2 rig. I would plan to use SLR Ti AGB’s for those two as well. Might do BRT gas block inserts, though, too. Every rifle I’m shooting today is suppressed anyway.

Lots of ways to skin a cat. BRT is a great option if you are dedicated suppressed and/or like adj. carriers.
