I remember seeing some info a while back about what bullet Prime uses. Is it indeed the Norma GT 130? The BC is off. Or is it something else unavailable? Prime flat shoots in my new rifle and I wouldn't mind using that bullet.

what powder is used in Prime 6.5 creedmoor?
Unknown. Unlikely to be a canister mixture that is available commercially to us, the unwashed masses.

I can tell you that 44.1 Gr H4350 will push the Norma 130 GT out of Prime brass at 2853 fps at 80 degrees with my RPR. DO NOT start at this level as all rifles/barrels are different. Work up to this if you need that velocity.

Ive been checking all of these pages but haven't seen much data with the H4831. Is anyone currently using this powder? I'm curious about using this powder with the 120's and 140's. A friend of mine is using it with the 142 Accubond LR with some good success but he's well above book loads. Just looking for some input..............

H4831 seems way too slow burning for 6.5 Creedmoor and it isn't listed as an option on the Hodgdon website. Would be a super compressed load and probably much slower than regular powders. IMR/H4350, Reloader 16, and IMR 4451 are what you want to be using.

It is quite a bit slower than the regularly used powders for the Creed but i'm always looking for new things to try. Ive worked up loads with all of the powders you listed as well as Varget and Reloader17. all are good choices but like i said i like to check out as much data as possible!

I am really surprised at some of the powder charges people are listing. The following is what I'm getting out of a 26" Bartlien barrel.

42.0 grains of H4350 was 2820 FPS in Hornady brass.

42.0 grains was 2780 in Lapua

My rifle really seems to like 2800 FPS but my Lapua brass at 41.4 was 2750 and had an SD of 3 and ES of 7... so I might start downloading to keep that load.

My velocities are similar to yours. I am envious of some the velocities posted here. I am averaging 2750 FPS with 42.5 grains of IMR 4350, Hornady brass, CCI & GMM primers pushing a SMK 142 out of a 24" barrel.

I use 4831SC in my creed. Got 2790 with a 143 ELD in a 26" barrel, not compressed. I was thinking about trying something slower.

Reloder 17 - Norma Golden Target 130's, Prime Brass, Wolf LRP: 42.5 Gr seems to be the load for my Ruger RPR. Roughly 2890 fps and sub 0.5 MOA (for three rounds). Going to work up so more. I ended up jamming these at 2.922". I think I will drop back a few 000'S for safety and see what I can get. No pressure issues at 85*. Vertical was pretty flat from 42.4 - 42.7. As always, my rifle, my load. Work up carefully.

Of course, now RL 17 has disappeared as well.

Pretty sure they use Berger 130gr OTM
They use the Norma 130 Golden Target. I have shot over 500 of them in my 260 Tikka and my son's RPR. He is using the Prime brass, 44 gr of H4350, CCI 200 and getting 2850 out of a factory RPR with single digit SDs. They are very stable when they go trans sonic. We have shot them out to 1400.

I pulled a few and it is very similar to 4451 in color and grain size, but I doubt that is what they are using. There was 44.3 gr in the 6.5 that I pulled.

Wanted something fast for Coyotes this fall. I didn't have much luck finding a load for the 123sst's so I didn't think the 95's would work. My buddy had some for his Grendel and I tried 5 of them at 40.5gr of varget "which is close to min from Hodgdon" and they clover leafed at 100. So I went back and loaded some at 42 and 42.5 again Varget. Max for the Hodgdon site was 43.0. 42.5 worked really well with no signs of pressure at all. I covered the 4 together with my thumb, take it for what it is. If you want to try something fast for the song dogs this might work for you too.

Anybody get good groups out of the 129 interlock? Hornady is sending me 500 free to get loaded. Will run through RPR and a 22" Savage. I was thinking Varget or R17.

I guess what I mean is what is the most consistent and what powders may not ignite at -30f. Out of 4831sc, imr4350, and rl17. cci 200 primers. I'm starting building my coyote hunting loads with 120's. The yotes are out the most in January and February and that means -30 morning temps in ND.

I'm also considering Superformance, but have heard that it doesn't group well. What about a single cold bore shot? Is it consistent? I can get it pretty cheap is why...

Out of your list, 4831sc is probably your most temperature stable. However, I have no experience with it. Hodgdons site does not show a load for it in a Creedmoor with a 120.
http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle
However, it does show loads for 260 Rem and 6.5x47L, so I have no doubt it would work in a Creed.

I live in ND and hunt coyotes in the dead of winter too, and I've never heard of a load failing to ignite due to cold. Now firing pins and actions getting froze up is another story...

Good. I have done my load testing with 4831sc and it works fine. Running 2730 fps with the 140 eldm so about 80 slower then 4350. That's a full load. Almost compressed.

I just ordered all my reloading gear since RCBS had the really good rebates going this month. I am going to use my once fired Hornady brass ive been keeping, and my girlfriends dad gave me 600 FGMM primers that he said he will never use. I shoot PRS style events and want to shoot somewhere in a 135-143gr bullet. He also gave me 3/4 of a jug of RL15, but that’s not as good for the heavier bullets, and I’ve heard it’s not the most temp stable. What’s a good powder to try that is actually fairly obtainable? Or if H4350 is the only real go to, where can a guy get his hands on some?

If you're willing to jump up to 147s, RL26 is worth a try. I found a node at 46.5 grains of RL26 that produced a .1 MOA three shot group during load development and then two consecutive .3 MOA five shot groups with a 147 seated at .015 off the lands. (OAL ~ 2.845) The velocity is 2770 fps. Although, I haven't tested temp sensitivity in this cartridge, I have tested it from 70* to 17* in my 300 WSM with 200 grain ELD-X and found it to shift a whopping 7 fps across a 53* temp change. It averaged 3017 fps at 70* and 3010 fps at 17*.
