A heavy duty one. Contact Tim at SAS. If his standard 30cal can can't take it I'm sure he can make you a beefier one that will.

I thought about doing the same thing and after looking at a few listed I ended up calling Dale at Elite Iron. They have a 11" Sierra model in .30 cal. if I remeber correctly. Since the Sierra series was designed to handle the .338 Lapua it should easily handle the .300 RUM.

    Re: Suppressor for 300 RUM

I wouldn't run any RUM through a .30 can unless specifically told it's OK by the manufacturer. They are very similar to .338 Lapua and that could overwhelm a can only intended for .308 or .300WM.

I bought my thundertrap from Dale Poling...well actually his wife...He makes the suppressors and she sells them. He used the thundertrap for testing and comparisons then sold it to me for cheap but I would definitely buy one of his cans but I couldnt beat 700 bucks for the thundertrap that was only fired a handful of times

gonna have to go with Conqueror on this one, they mak a 30 can that says up to 30-06 and they also make a 338 can, didnt see anything about 300 with the 30 cal can.

I would reccomend Advanced Armament Corp.
The Titan will work very well on that rifle.
The muzzle break is very efficent and when the can is put on over it it has no play with great performance for the on and off deviation . Sound suppression is very impressive.

I might not have been clear. Elite Iron does not offer a "standard" can for the .300 Ultra. The owner stated that they would have to make the "Sierra" model 11" can in .30 cal. for the Ultra due to the pressures involved. The Sierra is shown on the website for the .338 Lapua Mag, but it can be made in .30 cal. for the big Remington. The standard "Bravo" .30 cal. 10" can might not hold up to the RUM. In other words, if you want one of the best suppressors for the .300 Ultra Mag. call Elite Iron and they will make an 11 inch .30 cal. one for you.

This is Dale in Bonner MT with Elite Iron? I have shoot with him and heard his can on a 338. Great can. Great guy. If you ask I am sure he would be willing to build a custom can for a 300RUM. His cans are heavy, but they work very well. He loves what he does.

If anything just make sure the can you get is fully welded, this is just my .02 cents. It is good practice and it will make it stronger and the welds act as a heat sink.

What materials are the Elite cans made of?

Materials used are important too as well as how they are made.

    Re: Suppressor for 300 RUM

All Elite Iron Suppression Systems’ tubes are fabricated from non-magnetic, 304
stainless steel and trued for concentricity. It has been clearly demonstrated that
aluminum tubes cannot provide the durability required of battlefield
    environments
. The internal parts, made from 300 series stainless steel, are CNCmachined
from solid billets and 100% TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welded for added
    strength and toughness
. The internal baffle design is a heavily modified so-called
“K”-type. Knurled bands at the attachment end of the sound suppressor aid in
the installation and removal of the unit and serve as tactile locator bands in
subdued light. All of the units’ components are individually checked prior to
assembly, which is entirely by hand. Lauer DuraHeat finish is used on all Elite
Iron sound suppressors, unless the customer requests a sandblasted finish.

whatever you get just do some resaerch on before you buy and dont always rely on us(ok,me) armchair commandos, only 30 cal can Ive had is a 762SD but it was fully welded, all SS and was easy to handle and suppressed well but Ive never handled any other makers cans and never shot 300WM suppressed or 300WM unsuppressed for the matter, good luck and have fun with your new purchase.

    Re: Suppressor for 300 RUM

I use the SWR OMEGA on my 300 win mag and I love it. It took off well over 50% of the recoil. I have an HS Pro2000 in 300 win. Before I threded the barrle I hated to shoot that thing as it kicked the shit out of me. I would put 10rds threw it and that was it for that day. Once I put my can on it I could shoot that thing all day long.

YHM advised that their 7.62 can is good for any .30 rifle application including 300 RUM. Anyone have any doubts about this?

    Re: Suppressor for 300 RUM

I would think the Surefire 7.62 MG would be a good QD can. It was made for the M 240 and should stand about anything. It is the same size as the 7.62 SS but weighs 10 OZ more.

I shoot a YHM phantom on my 300 wsm and it works fantastic, I dont know how much difference there would be with a RUM
