Good for them, I heard Beretta leaving Maryland, Now if Remington would just have the guts to follow suit in NY State. Leave these Nazi politicians with some 'splaining to do to.

With magpul, colt and beretta leaving maybe the politicians will think twice about the economic impact their idiotic legislation will have and if they dont I'll enjoy a large number of firearms manufacturers moving to my state.

I don't think the Northeast cares. On one hand I am glad Colt is doing so much better and has the ability to move, on the other, traditions are changing. In all probability it will be better quality as a new site and new machinery will surely improve the Colt experience. In the 1850's the North controlled the manufacturing and the south had agriculture. Now the south has both.

I read the same thing . . . this is not Colt Mfg or Colt Defense. I hope if it is only Colt Comp, the other divisions will follow suit. At least it's a good start to the right state!

    No they won't.

Intel and Paypal both chose AZ over Cali, taking with them facilities and personnel and no politician in California gives a damn. And with them you are talking thousands of employees and millions of dollars.

Look... These lib-tards have absolutely no connection to reality. They are likely glad that these "evil" companies are no longer "contaminating" their environment. They will continue to push their electorate around as long as they are in power. Don't get me wrong. I am glad these companies are acting on principle. I applaud their ethical and patriotic actions.

Now it is up to "We, the people..." to follow up at the ballot box. Show these mental midgets that traditional red, white, and blue America still gives a damn... I am disgusted by our apathy... It is time to decide, citizens, or sheep???

Yeah the politicians and the folks who elected them generally don't give a shit.

Pretty sure its time we stop giving a shit about them, or assuming that standing up for our principals will win folks over. This is about principals, and good principals must be taught. Educate people, especially your children.

I hope Colt stays consistent with civilian gun-ownership values. I remember a brief time when Colt was barely concerned with civilian sales or quality of their guns and they were mainly concerned with m4/m16 sales to military and LEO. This was pre-2001 so there wasn't a war-time need or anything, it just seemed like Colt was purposely distancing themselves away from civilian sales.

My only concern is that Texas will become a blue state as soon as McCain and Schumer get done with immigration reform.

Good luck! If you need an example of the triumph of failed contumacious rhetoric over sanity, decency, and inalienable rights, look at California, denial, and California's headlong plunge into the abyss.

It would be nice if some of the companies would move to Wyoming. But then again, Wyoming is the greatest state because of its low population.

Oh theyll care when large amounts of manufacturing jobs leave the state which is one thing that has been helping to stabilize the economy. As these company's leave certain states and move to others tourism will fall and so will taxes earned. Money lost and unemployment up crime up with the stricter laws. It may just sink in. But then again look at California

Took me a long time to figure this out but I did and it may help some of you. Liberalism is not a political philosophy. It is a mental illness and thought disorder of reasoning. And just as you can not impart empathy with a sociopath or persuade a schizophrenic person their delusions are not real, there is no amount of evidence, logic, or facts that will dissuade a liberal from their false belief system. They truly are zombies. Now, Dannal P. Malloy, Governor of CT and others like him who control them they are as sane as you are I, just evil. These elites have nothing but disdain for the Bill of Rights. These laws are not about disarming criminals. It's about disarming you. Now, are things making better sense?

^^^ Yes, yes, and more yes ^^^ Liberalism in its currently practiced iteration is a near complete detachment from reality (aka psychosis), or at least most every reality except for political realities (of which they have a skilled grasp).

I appreciate and respect Colt's reasons.

But I also believe that a company's, any company's, most key resource is the folks who crank out the product. If they aren't making the move, then no matter what the sign outside the new plant says, it will be a different company. Maybe it'll be a better one, maybe it won't, but the one thing for sure is that it will be a different one. My biggest concern is for the people who were Colt, and whether or not they will continue to be Colt.

The politicians will generally have a "Good Riddance" attitude, and will gleefully cut off their (and our) noses to spite their faces. The primary attribute of a politician is that to be successful, one needs to forget about that crap that involves learning anything from one's mistakes. They will not get any kind of useful message from Colt's departure, and will probably be disinclined to be of any aid to Colt employees who can't make the move. Their prime motivation is spite, and nothing good can come from something with such a vile foundation.

Agreed and I add that since Colt doesn't have sole responsibility for the M4 now they are scrambling to recoup sales by supplying 6920's and such to Wally world. I predict once they get another huge govt contract they will shit on us civvies once more

Dont understand why any firearms related company would stay in an antigun state and fund that BS with tax $$

Magpul has yet to move, some doubt they will. Remington move ... very doubtful

We are asked not to judge all muslims by the acts of a few extremists,
but we are encouraged to judge all gun owners by extreme acts of the few

Colt got their ass handed to them because of their lack of civilian sales once their government contracts ran out. They doom themselves if they do not do the right thing...that is, keep the PEOPLE happy.

Who is this Colt everyone is talking about? Oh, they are that gun company that decided no civilian needed a Colt firearm a few years back. That is why they stopped showing up at stores. This Colt moving out of the NE is a nice "feel good" story until you take a realistic look at how they have treated civilian gun owners/ buyers in the past. REMEMBER, they pulled out of the civilian market a few years ago because of the same kind of BS we are fighting now.

Hopefully the workers appreciate the industry they work for and no longer want to be a part of the state.

Eventually the politicians WILL have to worry one way or the other about their negative legislation as their coffers run dry, ala commiefornia. They've got no one to blame but theirself with their ridiculous taxes and laws. Of course this is all assuming theyre not purposefully doing it which some times I believe they are.

I agree. The NE does not care at all. It is all about ideology and not economics, or tradition. The nation is splitting into two.

You make it sound like Ca and others like them will face reality soon for their actions. Wanna bet that you and I and all other US taxpayers bail them out, bail out Michigan, etc. until our economy totally collapses. Hint: Don't use common sense. It is not a player.
