223 loads with varget and 69 smk

Hello, just wondering if anyone had any good loads with LC brass, varget and 69SMK. I looked in the reloading posts and only found a few which all seemed to be in the 25.0-26.0 range. This will be shot out of a 20" bushmaster AR-15.

    Thanks,

    Alan

    Alan,
I don't shoot 69's but you can get LOTS of good info from these 2 sites on AR's. You will have to register but it is free.

    Good luck,

    Keith

Have you tried the loads yet? This is a pretty common, almost standard load for the 69's for hipower shooters. If your gun doesn't shoot this load well, its not the load's fault...

I will be working up some loads tomorrow morning, just wanted to ask to see what charge weights people had the best results with. This will be the first loads I try for accuracy, usually I use 55 gr FMJ with H335.

My gun likes 24.6 gr Varget in LC cases with CCI primers and 69 SMKs.

My 200-300 yard highpower load is 25.5 varget, 69 SMK moly, Rem 7 1/2, LC brass, COL= 2.26"
You will hear some varget crunching when bullet seating.

I don't advise H335 for 69 SMK's in case you wanted to test that combo.

My M&P15PC loves LC cases filled with 25.0 gr Varget, CCI primers, and 69SMK's. No pressure, and TIGHT groups.

It did not like the 55 gr stuff, with the 1:8 barrell.
