New custom 308 with Pics!

Custom short-action .308 Build by Excorio Precision Arms. Specs:

[*]McMillan A3-5 molded in brown (integrated cheekpiece, rear spacer system, with 2 flush cups (bottom))[*]Surgeon RSR with double-pinned lug and 20MOA pinned rail[*]Rock Creek Barrel @ 18.5", #1 HBR contour, 1:11 Twist with 5R rifling[*]CG X-Treme 2-stage trigger with curved "tactical" trigger shoe[*]Badger M5 DBM[*]Vortex Viper PST FFP 4-16x50[*]Harris 1A2 Model BR 3-6" Bipod[*]Badger FTE Muzzle Brake[*]Badger Angle Cosine Kit[*]Badger Maximized Rings[*]Not pictured, 2 additional surgeon bolt knobs painted to match action
As you can see, it was painted using an extreme digital camo pattern using a cerakote tan base and a forest green duracoat contrast with a small splash of black. It will probably shortly get refinished in an ATACs design.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to put any rounds down range, and after waiting for the build it looks like I may not get to. My wife and I are planning to adopt and I have two rifles getting here around the same time. I will have to choose one and sell the other.

Given that the other is also a custom POF build as an SBR done by Specialized Dynamics, it is a difficult choice.

Very nice, but not big on the Forrest green.

I would keep which ever you shoot more. Or just keep both

SWEET! Very nice gun! I wish my gun had the adjustable cheek piece.

What a bummer on having to make a choice between the two guns. Congrats on the new youngster, though.

If both were an option at this point, I definitely would. There are times in life where you think trading in the wife for a new rifle might be a better choice for long term happiness.

And then you realize what a miserable, grouchy bastard you were before she came along and the decision gets way less attractive.

I like the foliage green. More realistic in the woods, wheat, grass.

You are now a proud parent of a awesome rifle, and soon will be a proud parent of a lil one! good luck with both.

Keep Larry's build, he puts heart and soul into his stuff. I'm intrigued by your barrel spec, why so short - what purpose did you have it built for (I would have thought as a urban rifle but the green...)?

Congrats on the plans for adoption. Check the lawyer involved VERY carefully, there was news of a lawyer in San Diego trafficking in babies (anything for a buck...).

Yeah the green came out a little different than both Larry and I had planned. He and I are already planning a refinish. Looking at two possibilities for the refinish.

Either go through OnTargetCustoms (ARPredatorHunter on here) and do his ARP-ATACS paint. Or do a hydro dip finished in a flat clear protectant using prairie ghost.

I am leaning towards the OnTargetCustom job because I have seen the work, the durability is excellent, I can have him microslick the bolt, and the ATACS camo is a better all-around camo than would be the prairie specific job.

    This is a Coyote rifle.

Its a little bit on the heavy side but the way I tend to hunt them, I pretty much walk out and get stationary and setup in an area of brush or -better- against a fence post in a slightly raised area of fence.

The current paint scheme definitely has too much contrast for the purpose. The coyote tend to be pretty good at picking out things that do not make sense and they will freeze a few hundred yards out instead of getting closer.
