    Thunderbeast .22 takedown thread length.

I came across a strange problem today. While out shooting my new Bartlein barrel on my CZ, I noticed that it is threaded 1/2x28 but the threads are about 0.600" long. Significantly longer than any other .22lr I have more like an AR. My YHM Mite will screw right on but my uncles Silencerco...

    WTB Bartlein barrel for CZ455/457

I am getting ready to place an order with Bartlein for a threaded 457 barrel, just thought I'd check here first to see if anyone had one to sell.

    NF ATACR 4-16x42 for .22

I'm currently looking to buy a scope for the CZ457 I ordered today. I have seen the Athlon Midas TAC and it looks enticing but I have always been a buy once, cry once guy, especially for glass. I regret almost every piece of budget (vortex viper PST) glass that I own, and don't want to do that...

1 shot vs 3 shot OCW (finished load)

Gave it a try today, interesting results between the Berger and JLK VLD with h4350 and Lapua brass. They shoot the same in my 6.5x284, not so much here. I plan to do a full OCW tomorrow and see how they line up.

    Labradar Velocity puzzle

I finally got a real chronograph (Labradar). I took it to the range today and it is much more consistent than my old beat up Prochrono. I have a problem and wondered if anyone here has ever seen anything like it. I took a great shooting rifle, and a known great shooting load and shot 32 rounds...

    Kestrel 5700 compass

I have a Kestrel 5700 elite with AB and Link and it us losing compass calibration every time it is turned off. Is this normal? Do these have to be calibrated every time they are started? For example if ny target is at 12:00 and wind from 04:00, it will say the target is at 12 and the wind is...

Opinion on PST genII and NF SHV

I am considering one of these scopes for a build I am doing and would like some opinions of those that own or have used the above optics. They are both in the same price range and I am curious as to what people think. I am looking for a SFP MOA (gasp) scope because this is what I prefer, I have...

    Any reason for 6.5x47L

Now that Lapua makes brass for the 6.5 Creedmoor, is there any benefit to the 6.5x47L? I am having a Tikka/Proof/Manners done up and deciding on Caliber. Creed has a little more case volume and more factory ammo options. Factory loads are not a huge issue because I handload for everything else...

    Beanland masterpiece

I want to take an opportunity to brag on Jon Beanland. He built me this 6.5x284 a couple weeks ago. This is my first full custom rifle and I am absolutely blown away. I got a load worked up last week, it wasnt hard to do, the rifle made it easy. I started gathering dope yesterday and finished...

    Where are the Berger Bullets?

I have a new Beanland rifle in 6.5x284 about to be delivered and cannot for the life of me find a 500ct box of Berger 6.5mm 140gr VLD-Hunting bullets. I have an elk hunt in CO in October and really need to get a load worked up. Anyone got a lead?

LaRue OBR accuracy issues with YHM Phantom Ti

I have been shooting my recently acquired OBR 7.62 for the last few months, getting familiar with it. I have noticed that it will shoot sub-MOA no problem without the can on it, but if I put the can on it the group drops 2"(to be expected), but it also opens up to 2-2.5 MOA and very erratic. The...

    Broken Harris bipod

Does anyone know what size nut and washer hold the leg on Harris bipods? I noticed my bipod was trashed on my pig hint last weekend and it turns out it is missing this nut and washer. I emailed Harris and they sent me a phone number for the manufacturer (I assumed Harris was the...

    Weekend Pig Hunt

I needed a little getaway this weekend so I decided to go chase gristle missiles at the ranch. Friday afternoon I popped this big hog with my SBR, one shot, one kill. 55gr fmj believe it or not. I didn't have any bullets in my .308 or .243 when i saw him. All I had was my SBR in the front seat...

    LaRue OBR 7.62

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my order for a Larue Tactical OBR. When I ordered I was told 6-18 weeks and it has since been 52 weeks. This morning I picked up the phone just for S&Gs and called Larue up. The phone was answered by a very nice lady who transferred me to the sales...

    178gr Amax and Varget velocity

I asked this in my OCW thread, but it may get missed since it's such a long thread. The load I have settled on for my 20" AAC-SD is 45.1gr Varget pushing a 178gr Amax using Lapua brass and CCI BR-2 primers. This load looks hot according to books but shows no pressure. I clocked them today on my...

    OCW interpretation help

Ok, I ditched the FC brass and loaded up some Lapua brass to re run the test with. The bullets were 178gr Amax, the powder was Varget, and the primer was CCI-BR-2. It's hard for me not to like 45.1 and 43.3 just based on group size, but I know that's not what we're looking for in OCW. What...

.308 OCW test and cold barrel question

Hey guys I did this OCW test today with 178gr Amax, Varget, CCI BR-2, and FGMM brass. I don't know if I did enough different loads. 43.6 looks good as far as group but 43.3 was terrible. The three shots touching in the 44.4 group were the first three in the group. This was shot round robin style...
