Never seen any "repair stories" on any of the 40mm main tube models on here or any other site.

    Chassis Systems

Just talked to a company rep. He said they only made eight of these before stopping production. So even though they are on their web site they dont sell them anymore.

    High Rings

I've been looking at getting a Chassis for my rifle, but most of the ones I'm seeing say you need high rings for the scope installation. Is this an issue? I've always had low rings on all my rigs. I'm hesitant to get a chassis that calls for high rings when I've never shot a rifle with them?

Is this the right place to ask about Chassis? If so, looking for input on a chassis system for Remington 700 action. Thanks in advance for your input.

They may have FFP models. But mine is 2nd. I got it used about 7-8 years ago, never had an issue with it. I've had my terminator about 5 years with no issues.

Ordered: VALDADA IOR 5.8-40x56 40mm Tactical FFP, MOA/MOA

I just bought the new Recon 4.8-30X56. Haven't got it mounted yet. But it is my first FFP scope. I also have the 3.5-18 on a custom 308, and the erminator on a custom 6.5CM. Can't wait to get mounted up and putting rounds down range.

    Fluorite scope lenses

Sure it does, what you just said proves my point!! If someone built a scope with nothing but the very best materials money can buy, and put every feature you could possibly put on it, no-one would be able to afford it. So they build them out of materials they think are "good enough" and put...

    Fluorite scope lenses

I have a degree in Quality Management. It doesn't matter if we're talking Fluorite lenses or Schott Glass or Howa glass or ceramics , or metals, or plastics, or anything else. All companies do it, to give the customer what they think they will accept at a cost they think they will pay corners...

    Fluorite scope lenses

By your statement that Modern ED Glass is "good enough". That would imply that it is not what they think the customer desires, but rather what they think the customer will accept. It is the battle that all companies go through when determining how much quality is enough. Common sense says if...

    Fluorite scope lenses

They managed to work around the material issues, but it wasn't straightforward. In general, modern ED glass (a lot of which is fluorite glass, which is not quite the same as fluorite crystal) is good enough where you do not really need to have to deal with it. Desirability vs Acceptability...

Moa or Mil... yawn, old news

Say Rob, just so you know, I appreciate your input on this. I claim to be a fairly good shot, but I don't claim to know the science behind shooting as well as I should. So again, thanks for your input.

Moa or Mil... yawn, old news

I was given a class handbook during the class, I can't find it, but the more ya'll talk, the more I remember about it. I remember something about .3 mills equaling a MOA or something close to that.
