Water Jugs - Where to Buy?

A while back, there was a post about a good place to buy water jugs. With the disappearance of all of the threads, I can't find the thread I'm looking for any more.

    So, anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    an,

With living on the Gulf Coast and the threat of hurricanes we use the collapsable jugs from Academy. They hold up well and are easy to store when not in use. The big Jerry cans are nice but the kids had a hard time handling them. The big sports water coolers work well also and may be an option.

I would like to be able to get ahold of some of the GI Plastic Water cans to store fresh water and also for camping. I like the USGI ones because they are pretty tough and last awhile as long as you don't loose the lids

I got some tan GI 5 gallon "jerry can" thick plastic water jugs. LC Industries made them. For long term water storage rinse out the jug with hydrogen peroxide, fill from your normal drinking water source. 1 tablespoon of unscented bleach per 5 gallons should do the trick.

LC Industries is the way to go. They are only $17 and there is free shipping on orders over $50(check before ordering).

I know this has been covered before, but how long would you expect water stored like this to be drinkable? Not worried about taste, just safe to drink water....at least a year or two?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

I've used this method & have used the water that was 4 years old no problem. I put the "formula" & date on the can with a Sharpie to keep track.

Re: Water Jugs - Where to Buy?

    Thanks.

Just use like a pint of hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy, poor it in and shake around? Maybe one pint and then clean 4 cans in a row with it, dumping from one can to the next?

Yes, from the CVS. I use about a 1/4 pint per jug. If it doesn't foam up then I keep using it. Great to use in a spray bottle for kitchen counter tops. No streaks, cleans good & germ free.
